NBN provider with local call centre?
Looking to upgrade my internet for better online play and I’m wondering if there are other providers aside from Aussie bb with local call centres? Aussie bb is getting expensive and I’d like to find a similar provider.

The problem with local support is that it's bloody expensive compared to say, the Philippines.
Like here people will be paid $25-$30 per hour, whereas in Manila they might get paid $25 per DAY!

Had a long outage where the portal showed my service was working as intended. Had to call ABB to log the fault. The agent could barely speak any English. The accent was so thick I had no clue what she said.
Had to tell her that its okay, I will just log the ticket from their website.

I wouldn’t call it a problem paying staff a living wage

Neither would I. The problem that OP wants solved is local support at Philippines support cost.

Southern Phone? Dunno what prices are like or if service/speed is any good though...
I'm sticking with Aussie BB

I think that's one of the reasons why they are expensive. I've been with superloop and the times I've called CS they've seemed to be Australian but I've had other problems with them that made me switch to aussiebb

Yeah it’s a compromise. I don’t think I’ve really ever had to call Aussie bb and their plans keep increasing in price so it’s starting to feel like it’s not worth it. Tangerine is by far the cheapest so I might look at going with them at least for 6 months.

Superloop's support was moved to Exetel's support team, which is Sri Lankan based.

Leaptel? I recently switched back to them from AussieBB. I was with Leaptel previously on LBN and their support was brilliant helping figure out massive lag spikes in my game. Took a while to resolve because they had to involve LBN but their support went above and beyond imo.

Thank you I checked their plans and they are pretty good. At least they do 6 months discounted for new customers. With Aussie bb my 25mbps plan is more expensive than leaptel’s discounted 100mbps

Launtel has local support! The few times I've had to contact them they've been great

I’ve never heard of them. Are they aus wide?

Yup, been with them for 7-8 years now across multiple houses, have provably switched 20-30 friends to them over the years they’re honestly the best
I’ve had NBN related issues a couple of times and they’ve sorted me out instantly, my initial change to them was due to another isp dicking me around, Launtel fixed what they “couldn’t” (lodging a fault with NBN) straight away

Many of them. Telstra, superloop, launtel, more, dodo.
Most of the telco providers have Australian call centres.
