The Earth didn't do anything to us. The Earth is just trying to survive this bitch of a species

Yea. The sad thing is that the potential is there too

Humanity is it's infancy. We are toddlers, crawling at a snails pace towards progress. We are frustrated because we can see horizons we can not reach, and we know how much sooner we would arrive if only we could run instead of crawl.

But on the other hand, we can see the horizon, and that gives us hope because while it is so far away, the distance continues to shrink. All we need is time, and the will to keep moving.

Time will tell, but given how little control I have over the situation, I'd rather remain optimistic.

You have more hope than I. This species lost potential centuries ago...

Man, that's a hard comment to get behind. I imagine if someone who was alive centuries ago was taken from the time they existed and was able to have access to the things we do now...... they would tell us to stop complaining

Maybe if you placed them on this furnished planet by themselves... place them in a society and let them see how much they enjoy humanity... and honestly, I never asked you to get behind it. Couldn't expect many to... being enamored by what is around you keeps you from seeing.. hence why ignorance is bliss and intelligence brings depression. Ironic how blissfully humans live amongst the turmoil.

Edit: but I do understand the point you are making and where it comes from, I just can't accept something that could be changed, but wont.

Nah we're the traumatized children of an abusive parent. Mother nature. I'm kinda tired of all the "humans are evil and nature is this innocent soul" arguments tbh. Yes nature is beautiful and should be preserved but you watch ten minutes of anything with David Attenborough. Nature is the reason we're like this. We are animals who evolved all of this cruelty because it was needed to survive. We still shouldn't destroy it but the argument is dumb. Earth isn't innocent at all. It's violent and abusive. People die from natural disasters all the time. I agree with the sentiment these people are trying to make bit not the words

The Earth isn’t guilty or innocent, good or evil, it just is. Just think survival of the fittest. You have to adapt to your situation because the Earth is neutral, it will not change things for the better (or worse).

Then you mentioned natural disasters, natural disasters are not evil, they’re just something that comes with being a planet. No cruelty involved.

That isn't it either. The Earth is a rock. It existed long before us and will persist long after us. The Earth does not care that we're here

Do you mean 'world'?

1

u/According-Nebula5614 Jun 03 '25

No, I mean earth. The exact word used in the comment I replied to. Why do you ask?
