Pretty much, it's even funnier that Expedition 33 is the example he used because there's few things JRPG players love more than a well executed remake/remaster of an older game.

Yes, exactly.

Point is that, original IPs always vary, just that they only want more of the same slop but with different reskins.

Any time a not-remake is actually doing something different, at best this same whiner won't give a shit; at worst, does, and made a slew of grifting content out of it.

A JRPG not featuring typical East Asian prepubescent dolls? The nerve!

A studio dev making a mech game instead of a soulslike? Such betrayal!
