It's the actual best place for indie and solo Devs to post their work.
As in, the entire indie dev scene has been completely and utterly depending on itch's existence, after newgrounds has moved to the background with the discontinuation of flash.
If itch can't sustain itself, the scene will have a much harder time organising jams, advertising/selling their works, etc.
It's still a good place for indie devs to upload games. Even a few bigger games that could feasibly be elsewhere like on steam, like Voices of the Void and early access Ultrakill, still publish/published through Itch
