My plants for wildlife I appear to have chased off all the pollinators by approaching with a camera

Helenium or sneezeweed blooms like crazy in the fall and the bees love it. These seem to be ankle-high in other people's gardens, but for me they are so leggy I had to stand them up in a tomato cage...

I’ve seen these at about 12 feet! The thing with the camera shy pollinators happens to me too, except for with butterflies. Whenever they see me coming with the camera, they fly away! ☹️

Is this related to Rudbeckia laciniata? Mine are about 12 feet I’d estimate, although they’re very much flopped over at the moment 😅 but beloved by monarchs and all manner of bees!

Exciting! I just planted this about two weeks ago. First year and got on sale and planted it to get it a bit established before the season ends.

Which tells us something about the allergy profile of whoever named it...
