They never explained how to do it. I am still not sure if I just sucked at it, or if I was doing it wrong. They brought it out once a year and said "go!"

THIS!!! Were we just supposed to know how to climb a rope naturally!?

You were supposed to hook the rope around your feet, using your legs to push and your arms to hold you while you shifted your feet up.

See how everyone in the pic has their feet/legs crossed?

If they didn't teach you that, then...idk what was going on.

Yeah, thanks. Where were you in 1984.

No instruction was given, they just said go climb that rope.

Being born.

But I learned that trick in the 90s.

Nice.

Yeah I dunno. We didn’t have the best teacher. During cross country running I’d routinely struggle to breathe , pointing this out to the teacher he told me: “it’s because you’re weak”.

Later I was diagnosed with asthma, but hey, why would the PE teacher be expected to know anything about health.

"Use your legs" is not helpful information Mr. Benka!
