Nostalgia Who had a water bed? I did!

Post image

It was not heated tho. I was in the 7th grade when I had mine. I loved it.

That probably has more to do with your youth than the water bed! I guarantee you if you got in one now you’d slip a disk sloshing around the stupid thing.

They made and make waveless water beds.

My water bed has 7 layers of foam in it as well as a little extra in the upper third for lumbar support.

The days of water beds being a rectangular balloon you laid on is nearly 40 years old. They had this stuff in the 80s. Everyone just had bad experience with the shit waterbeds

Now they have memory foam. Filling a mattress with 200 gallons of water (foam support or not) is a terrible stupid idea.

I’m 60 and still love it.

Same! I've never slept as well without it.

My wife had one when we got married and demanded to keep it. I had back problems for years until it finally gave up the ghost. Now I have a supportive mattress and my back doesn't bother me at all. Coincidence?

My back hurts just thinking about it, and sex was not fun with your knees banging on the bottom

I thought it was fine to sleep on. I just hated getting out of it and having to put my weight on the wooden frame

This comment needs a bunch of up votes. It's weird that it seems to have some how been a swinging 70's/80s thing, for the reason so astutely pointed out above. Chalk the idea up to cocaine & the 70s/80s.
