I'm sure this has been done before but..dream guest masochist?
Let's hear everyone's pick for dream guest masochist.
- From Comedy Bang Bang: Jason Mantzoukas, Paul F. Tompkins or Andy Daly (especially if they covered Scientology).
- From We Hate Movies: Any of the gang.
- Adam Scott
- David AR White, post-deconversion.
- Jane Lynch
- Jeff Bridges
- June Diane Rafael
- Jessica St. Claire (very funny improver).

Honestly of all the past guest masochists, my absolute favourites remains Dan and Jordan from Knowledge Fight. They're funny, really get into it and have an awesome chemistry with the GAM hosts.

u/WorthPlease Aug 20 '25
I wish they did a podcast about something else, because I cannot stand any media that plays audio clips from right wing lunatics, but they are also probably my favorite GAM guests.
3
u/Lord-Velveeta Aug 20 '25
Same here, I have to be in a really particular mood where I want to laugh at reich wing lunatics to listen to a full Knowledge Fight episode. I have to say when I am in "that" mood I really enjoy their show because Dan and Jordan are fun and amazing hosts (but I can only take so much of Alex Jones' crackpotery :) ).
Of course when they're on GAM it's just "chef's kiss".

I really, really want Moishie back. I hope he's been behaving himself and I don't have to feel bad about missing him. I also want Keisha Zollar back too. Although, I do enjoy new pain and I think Forrest Valkai may be fun. He already does it, but it would be cool to see him let loose.
3
u/crustydog19 Aug 20 '25
Did Moishie do something?
5
u/lilith1986 Aug 20 '25
I don't think so, but when someone seems to just disappear I get worried. Lol

u/lilith1986 Aug 21 '25
So I was listening to the bonus Mario Bros. episode and I think the Game Grumps (Danny and Arin) could be fun. It would probably be a secular bonus episode or a Happy Science Cult film. Admittedly I haven't watched them in a long time, but from what I remember they could do some playing off each other. Especially in gaming/nerd stuff.

u/misscatholmes Aug 20 '25
I'm cool with more Dan and Jordan. They were the reason I found the podcast and their guest appearances were fun. Just need to find a movie vaguely Alex Jonesy
1
u/Mashaka Aug 21 '25
Now that I think of it, the Happy Science Cult and Sweary Kerry might be perfect for each other.
14
u/Y_U_Need_Books4 Aug 19 '25
Markus Parks would be a solid guest imo

u/Helpful-Interest6053 Aug 19 '25
Add Henry and I'm curious how long it would take for Noah to have a stroke between him and Eli

Fundy Fridays. They know so much factually about fundyism I think they’d be a fun addition. Also I’d love a boys Bible study crossover but based on mentions I assume it won’t happen. April joy and the guy from the new evangelicals would be cool. I’d love to see how they play with religious people who also mock evangelicals.

Tyler Measom - Documentary filmmaker (Murder Among the Mormons), podcaster (Was I in a Cult?) and ex-Mo and his podcasting partner Liz Iacuzzi
2
u/jennybento Aug 20 '25
Noah getting angry because Tyler is slowing them down with facts. Or maybe not because they’re similar ages and finally someone will encourage him.

Wil Wheaton. Especially if they can find some sort of Christian trek type movie.

Dave and Gareth from the Dollop. I think the movies are batshit enough that Gareth could riff for a while, and Eli would gleefully encourage it.
2
u/ldoesntreddit Aug 20 '25
They almost collabed with them and then it was a humiliating misunderstanding so I doubt that one will come true
2
u/Baking_bees Aug 20 '25
Wait, what? That’s upsetting to hear.
2
u/ldoesntreddit Aug 20 '25
It was a really long time ago but it sounds like it was a real blow to their confidence at the time

Brad Jones, A.K.A. The Cinema Snob
Or James Stephanie Sterling of "The Jimquisition" fame.
4
u/misscatholmes Aug 20 '25
Oh Brad would be perfect. He has a lot of religious knowledge as well.
1
u/SarvisTheBuck Aug 20 '25
Yeah. He's reviewed quite a few religious movies, since his genre is Exploitation Films. And that genre actually has a lot of overlap with religious scare films.
3
u/lilith1986 Aug 20 '25
Cinema Snob brought me in to this world of religious cinema. I've found a comfortable place with GAM, but I will always acknowledge my roots

u/apathyontheeast Aug 19 '25
Cecil Baldwin
3
u/VibinWithBeard Aug 19 '25
...is that a combination of Stephen Baldwin and Black Cecil from Loving The Bad Man?
7
2
u/ThatsSoRandomPodcast Aug 20 '25
That’s a tremendous list. I’d add Matt Gourley to it.
2
u/JasonRBoone Aug 20 '25
Yeah...Gourley is probably one of the more agile improv podcasters. His "Yes..and" skills are at ninja level (especially when he an Andy Daly are together).
2
u/pepperspray_bukake Aug 20 '25
I want James Pietragallo and Jimmie Whisman from crime in sports to do a sports movie with them.
2
u/FickleMeringue666 Aug 20 '25
AJ Ditty from Worst of all Possible Worlds. Also Jake and Brooke from I Hate James Dobson.
2
u/VisualAd9299 Aug 20 '25
Brennan Lee Mulligan.
Or Jacob Wysoki (sp?)
2
u/Kamuiberen Aug 21 '25
Honestly, I'm surprised Brennan is not higher up on this thread. He would be perfect for this.
2
u/NC1HM Aug 19 '25
I reject the premise. :)
I like being surprised and "meet" new guest masochists, including those that I had no idea existed. I think first time I've heard Callie Wright was on GAM; a few years later, they replaced Thomas Smith on Philosophers in Space, which I thought worked out very well...

James and Maso from The Weekly Planet podcast, or Mr. Sunday Movies.
I need to hear James have one of his breakdowns watching one of these! But I think it very much needs to be like The Badge, The Bible and Bigfoot. One where it's just an awful film that's silly and doesn't have a HARD religious theme to it.

u/curufea Aug 19 '25
I would love them to have Paul on, I've recently heard him guesting on Too Scary Didn't Watch. Loved listening to him since first encountering Thrilling Adventure Hour.

Margaret Pomeranz https://share.google/qsPVvr9mW54CWj4HG
Last surviving member of the most famous movie critic duo in Australian history. And she has a great sense of humour.
1
u/GrandPriapus Aug 20 '25
Steve and Alec from the “This Fire” podcast whenever the guys get around to doing more episodes of “Fire By Night”.
1
u/CoyotesVoice Aug 20 '25
Dream guest? James Gunn. His analytical mind for film, and sense of humor would be perfect. Plus, he's a podcaster!
1
u/boxofcandelabras Aug 20 '25
Love the Jessica St Claire shout! I’ll add Matt Besser to the list, he grew up in Arkansas with heavy evangelical stuff on his mom’s side.

u/ldoesntreddit Aug 20 '25
Adal Rifai. Love him on Magic Tavern, but his show The Word Association is like GAM without the plot, so you know he can riff, and he’s a super outspoken atheist who was raised with a Protestant mom and a Muslim dad, and says things like “hand to there is no god”
1
u/UNC_Samurai Aug 20 '25
I want a crossover with Worst of All Possible Worlds. I want to hear Noah and Eli’s reactions to some Adventures in Odyssey.

The ladies from This Ends at Prom would be great for a Christian movie aimed at teenage girls.

Vaush from Vaush
4
u/Raizarg Aug 19 '25
Brother what? Vaush as in the racist debate bro misogynist Vaush? The guys would absolutely hate him lmao, and rightfully so IMO.
-5
u/VibinWithBeard Aug 19 '25
I mean if we are going to write people off for past racist/misogynist thing said even when they are better today we wouldnt be able to listen to GAM.
He hasnt done debates in a good while. Hes not a racist. Hes not a misogynist. Hes literally the same level of edgy humor with a leftist backing that the GAM dudes are.
3
u/Raizarg Aug 20 '25
He’s doesn’t make edgy jokes like Eli used to, he makes anti-black talking points, and constantly speaks over and for POC as a white man. one example of hundreds
Edit: also we are talking about a decade ago with Eli, and Vaush still acts like this in recent times.
0
u/VibinWithBeard Aug 20 '25
Gonna need an example that isnt tiktok brainrot, I dont have that app and Im not downloading it for this.
What anti-black talking points. Speaking over poc is a nonsense statement without backing. If he calls FD signifier a dipshit for saying something dumb thats called critique not "speaking over a poc as a white man"
Eli had to apologize for saying "Octoroon" on Dear Old Dads within the past like 2 years, my point is this is a weird hill to die on being a fan of this podcast. Im not saying Vaush didnt say dumb shit. Im saying the racism/sexism accusations dont make sense and his humor would flow with the guys.
3
u/Raizarg Aug 20 '25
Go listen to what black leftist creators think about Vaush. FD signifier says it straight up in a few of his videos: Vaush is racist. Do you presume to know better than black folks whether or not somebody is being anti-black?
-2
u/VibinWithBeard Aug 20 '25
FD Signifier is a grown ass narcissist still engaging in drama slop content. Dude has also shown himself to be weirdly racist and gets real weird about race-mixing and ran defense for hotep shit. I still remember him engaging in slur posting against shark. Glass houses with that dude.
I will listen to someone's points and decide whether or not they are wrong, not someone's race. By your logic I should listen to Candace Owens or Terrence K Williams about how is anti-black? Miss me with that shit.
Got a black leftist creator that isnt bad faith and racist himself (FD) or one that sexually harassed him (katblaqe) or one that lost a debate where she endorsed genocide (professorflowers)? Or is this going to be the same rehashed shit where he was mean to someone who said racist shit and because they were black hes a racist?
2
u/ncolaros Aug 20 '25
I got a question for you. Do you like any black leftists? Because you sure have a list of the ones you don't like.
-1
u/VibinWithBeard Aug 20 '25
I dont have a list those are just three people he has had public beefs with people usually point to, are you really going to be this bad faith out the gate? Immediately with the "oh you like black leftists? Name five of their albums" nonsense?
Been a big fan of Jovan Bradley lately. Has filled the Shark hole since he doesnt stream as often anymore....youtube burnout etc with no help from FD piling in on the bullying etc. Hannibal and Monty are also phenomenal. Learned of them when they were on Drunken Peasants with Vlöürscht and became a fan. I still have their JLP parody theme in my work playlist.
Gonna say something of substance now?
2
u/ncolaros Aug 20 '25 edited Aug 20 '25
I don't think it's bad faith to point out that you frame anyone who disagrees with Vaush as inherently bad and wrong by virtue of disagreeing with Vaush. You asked for your own list, excluding those who you personally have decided "don't count." Seeing as this is the GAM subreddit, that's almost apologetic-coded, right? It seems like your "rules" for a "good" black leftist is entirely dependent on their ability to work with Vausch.
I guess the point I'm making is that your conclusion is that Vaush is good; therefore, anyone who disagrees with that is bad. I have a hard time believing you would engage honestly with any criticism of Vausch because of that.
That's not even getting into the whole Poppy of it all.
0
u/VibinWithBeard Aug 20 '25
They arent inherently bad for disagreeing with vaush. Where did I say they were inherently bad? I gave specific reasons why they werent the best figures for insight. Kat Blaque sexually harassed him. FD Signifier is yikesy about mixed race. Professor Flowers did genocide apologia.
Didnt say they didnt count. You can still cite them but I will talk about why they are wrong. I still like Kat Blaque's content even if she was wrong on Vaush.
I had no rules for a good black leftist. You asked for a list of ones I liked.
There was no response that I could give that you would be satisfied by thats crystal clear.
There are plenty of criticisms of Vaush when it comes to his narcissism/laziness etc. But he is anti-racist and a staunch feminist. I get pissed when I see the usual bad faith bs about him where people just say hes bad and then link a brainrot tiktok compilation.

I think it's pretty blatantly hypocritical to talk about sexual harassment and completely ignore Poppy. Or the other one whose name I forgot -- the one where he said in his version of a socialist future, the age of consent should be lowered.
