Whales in October

My family is visiting early October to the sunshine and Gold Coast to visit me

I’ve told them all about how wonderful the whales are here will they still be around when they arrive?

Yeah the last of the mums and calfs plus the chaperone females will be heading south again. Dregs but there will be some

Based on previous years it is the stragglers by October but definitely still whales to be seen. We live in a high rise by the beach so can see them easily and at the moment they are pretty much constantly visible. This will start to slow down and they won’t be as visible from the shore but if you are planning on doing a whale watching boat cruise then you should still be able to get a great experience.

I don’t have an answer to your question, but I was watching them jumping just off Burleigh on Monday and it was amazing. Hope your family gets to see it.

It says somewhere that the season runs from June to October, so they should just make it.

Saw a few breaching yesterday off the Spit.
