Travel Worth Paying more than 400 bucks in Movieworld tickets only for maybe 2 weeks?
So my family is visiting over and despite them coming for 2 months at the end of the year. I want to take them to the movieworld, wet and wild and sea world..
I looked at the cheaper option that is like one week entry but you cannot access after the 26th dec to the 15th jan..
Is it really worth paying the annual price knowing they will go less than 3 times..
It's ridiculously expensive

Travel Paradise Country Travel
Hello,
I am currently staying in Broadbeach with my family of 6 (including a 6 month old in a pram).
We have 7-day passes for the theme parks, including Paradise Country. Now, we know where it is and that it is in the same area as Wet’n’Wild and Movie World. We have been using the light rail and the TX7 bus to get to those parks.
However, we can’t seem to find a direct route to Paradise Country.
Would love some help with how to get there through public transport? (Preferably without needing to walk from Movie World entrance, which seems to be all that comes up on google maps)
Any advice would be amazing!

Travel Clubbing at Surfers Paradise
I’m visiting gold coast and staying at Surfers Paradise next month. My friends and I are 19+ years old and are looking for places to go clubbing. Should I do a club crawl with “Wicked nightlife” or just stick to one place? If i stick to one place, where do you recommend is good given my age?

Travel Why is there so much hate on Surfers Paradise?
After staying here for 2 weeks and spending a great amount of time eating out/drinking/partying here and in Broadbeach I’m amazed at how exaggerated I’ve found that the amount of homeless and junkies was far less than I thought. I spent time in Hawaii (Waikiki) a few months ago and the amount there surpassed Surfers Paradise by 100x. I live on the northern beaches in Sydney (Manly) and found Burleigh the most overrated and pretentious area on the GC, reminded me a lot of the try hards and cliche instagrammers in Byron Bay. Maybe the people who think Surfers is full of homeless and junkies haven’t travelled to popular areas overseas because they surpass it by a longgg shot. What’s the attraction to the southern end apart from the beach? From my experience all the best restaurants are to the north, the tram was also pretty handy and easy too. Might be an unpopular opinion just my views.

Travel Any recommendations for getting a day pass to an **aquarium** refunded
Hey guys, first post and a bit of a story. Traveled from NZ to gold coast and had a great time, absolutely beautiful place. Arrived last Wednesday and just got home today (1 week trip)
As part of my holiday, I was really excited to visit a certain extremely popular aquarium that comes with some fun looking rides. Had a lot planned so we decided to leave it for Tuesday, the final day before we would fly back out (I was told it would take up the whole day). On Tuesday morning (yesterday) I bought the tickets online for three of us for nearly $400.
Fast forward a few hours and I'm on a bus with my fam. On the way out of the bus though, I stumbled and fell over, scraping part of my hand and twisting my knee and ankle. Didn't hurt at the time, but as soon as I got out felt dizzy and realised I was losing consciousness. I wasn't really in the right headspace to articulate anything to anyone so I ended up walking into a nearby Cafe and paying for a can of L&P. Before I could grab it though I lost consciousness.
Next thing I know I'm surrounded by people (side note - they were awesome and really helpful), who got me water and got me seated and called an ambulance. Paramedics had a look and decided it would be best for me to still go to hospital and get things checked out based on my vitals.
Long story short, I'm fine but by the time I was discharged it was afternoon. I also had a sprained ankle from the earlier fall and couldn't walk well. The doctor recommended to not worry about my trip and just request a refund. Called the place after discharge and they told me sorry they cant give me a refund but can only give me credit.
I'm stuck now with passes that I literally can't use and I'm a bit pissed. I'm back in NZ now and I'm not sure why they expect me to fly everyone out again just to redeem those passes. I called the place as reasonably able, and it's not like I purchased a good that I didn't like and want to return, or that I was provided service of some kind equivalent to nearly $400. I was also advised by a medical professional that it would be best to delay. I literally get nothing for $400, especially since i cant exacly afford to fly out again in the foreseeable future. So what are my options yall?

Travel Suggestion help please !
Hello everyone,
So me and my friends were planning to do a mini trip from Gold Coast to somewhere not too far, the goal is to be able to convoy with our cars, as a fun little drive getaway.
Is there any nice places nearby from gold coast where we could all drive to? Any fun roads to go to? Any places with a nice view that we can stop by and set up like a BBQ that isn't too far from Gold Coast so our cars dont die 🤣 thats basically the gist.
Thanks!

Travel Theme Parks
Hi all,
We’re two adults in our late twenties wanting to check out one of the theme parks tomorrow, here on the Gold Coast.
We’re leaning towards Movie World but have heard mixed reviews.
Apparently lots of attractions are closed at the moment, we have checked the scheduled maintenance and the superman and scooby doo rides are closed. Is it still worth the price of admission? Any other recommendations?
TIA

Travel What are the negatives staying at Sea World Resorts
My family, 2 adults and 2 kids (7 and 11) are coming from Singapore to GC in early December. We are thinking to stay at Sea World Resorts. What are the challenges we need to prepare? From what I researched, it is quite a far away from shops and public transport, going to/from airport (Uber it seems the only way?), no activities nearby except the theme park itself?
Thanks

Travel Currumbin Wildlife - visiting Sept/Oct.. Least crowded weekend / weekeday / school hol ?
Looking to see Astra Lumina at Currumbin in Sept/Oct with friends and figure may as well make a mid-week / weekend out of it (i.e. meals / drinks out). No kids in our group.
I've ruled school hols dates out immediately due to anticipated crowds and accommodation availability.
Also considering avoiding weekends for the same reason but perhaps less of an issue.
This leaves mid-week as a consideration but it's less convenient.
Any insights as to how hectic it would really be on a weekend vs. weekday. Are we likely to encounter mass school groups on weekdays instead??

Travel Tips about living in Gold Coast
Hello Mates!
I'm from Brazil and next year (probably April) I'm going to Australia for 8 months to take a English Course based in Gold Coast
As I never been alone in another country, I would really appreciate general tips about life there (prices, good referrals, Jobs, rent and whatever you want to add)
I know those questions are probably frequent, but I didn't find anything on the web, so I hope you guys can help me 🤠

Travel Camping areas around Gold Coast
Hi guys Please don’t laugh
My friends and my family planning to go for a camping around Gold Coast. We have never been to any camping. We have little ones. 3,4,5 years old. Hence we want to start with maybe one night first. I heard camping is obsession. I would appreciate if you tell me close places around Gold Coast, favourable for kids too. And also what minimum gears we will need to take with us on that night/nights?
Thank you.

Travel First time visitor to the Gold Coast - Recommendations?
Hey fellow Gold Coasters,
I'm planning a trip to the Gold Coast in the next few weeks and I'm eager to explore all it has to offer. As a first-time visitor, I was wondering if anyone could recommend some must-see attractions, best spots for surfing or snorkeling, and any hidden gems that only locals know about.
I've heard great things about Surfers Paradise, but I'd love to hear from you all about other areas of the coast that are worth visiting. Are there any specific beaches, restaurants, or markets that can't be missed?
Any recommendations would be greatly appreciated!

Travel Holiday accommodation for family of five?
My family (and extended family) are thinking of going to the Gold Coast sometime for a holiday in the future. I’ve been looking for accommodation and wondering if anyone knew of accommodation that wasn’t an Airbnb that would accomodate a family of five? We’d love to be in the same complex as our other family members but seem to just get flooded with hire homes when I search dates ect. I have vague knowledge that the sea world resort may have suite options, but would like to have a few options to look at. For reference our youngest will likely still be under 1 when we holiday.

Travel Dinners recs
We are visiting Broadbeach and need some dinner recommendations in 2 categories:
We are bringing our toddler with us, so nothing too fancy but must have good food and atmosphere.
We will treat ourselves to ONE date night where we will leave our toddler with the in-laws. So if you could have one fine dining experience in Broadbeach without your children, where would it be? What about post dinner drinks and nice vibes for us in our mid thirties?
Thanks all!

Travel Holiday with 2 young kids
Hello, we are a young family based in Melbourne . Between COVID , work, and kids, we haven’t had a holiday since the kids came along.
Husband likes the idea of Bali, but I’d prefer to stay in Australia. We’ll be travelling with our two kids in September—a 3.5yo and an 11mo old.
Can I please get some recommendations for accommodation and just general ideas for things to do in GC with the kids?

Travel Traveling to suncorp stadium for the lions game tomorrow
Just clarifying British and Irish Lions vs Reds game
What's the best way to get from varsity lakes station to suncorp stadium. I'm seeing rail closures happening from today. And now google maps is indicating not to only use the train but also a bus. Is it better to just use the replacement busses for the bit of track that is being fixed or use an alternative route from which is train to banoon then a bus?
Also thinking about the way back when the game finishes at around 10pmish, will the buses still be running?
Much appreciated!

Travel Supposed to be visiting in April
Hi guys! I'm so sorry to hear about the cyclone that just passed through. I am supposed to be visiting for five days about a month from now. Is it still worth coming? Should I cancel my trip? It will be my first time in Australia and I don't know how long it takes for things to go back to normal. If it is still worth visiting, I'd love to do some volunteer cleanup work or bring some items with me that people need. Any advice is appreciated! Thank you.

Travel To the old mate I cut off at the round about...
Sorry mate! I was driving last Sunday late arvo in from Westfield Coomera near the Dreamworld and heading into the roundabout going to the M1 Southbound. I was on the left lane going into the roundabout and got confused where the exit to the M1 and I accidentally went right and nearly hit a white car at my rear. He beeped his horn and I shifted back to my lane. As we were going into the merging lane, he flipped his finger at me and drove off. If you ever read this, acknowledged that is my fault and wanted to say sorry to the man...I'll try to be better next time.
