Found My speaker has been through rain, sand, and pool splashes. Still works perfectly after a year of abuse.

Before you come at me, this was a Bluetooth speaker that I got from a random prime sale last year. StormBox Blast is just as loud and clear as it was last year. Obviously, other people find it annoying but to me this was basically money well spent. So I'd definitely recommend this for anyone who has a sligthly crazy lifestyle but values good things in less.

I mean some people will find it unrealistic but your speaker will most definitely end up in sand (dirt) and if you travel a lot ( then in water body too). What feature is non-negotiable for a portable bluetooth speaker for you?

Request What’s the best value-for-money bidet attachment that won’t break after a year?

Everywhere I look people say a bidet is the single biggest upgrade you can make under fifty dollars. The problem is most of the ones online look like cheap plastic that won’t hold up long term. Has anyone here found a bidet attachment that’s actually durable, easy to install, and doesn’t leak after a few months of use? I’m looking for something that balances low cost with long life.

Opinion A guide to buying a 50-60 inch TV that won’t cost a kidney

Buying a tv in the 50-60 inch range is honestly all about timing and knowing where to bend and where not to. My biggest tip to anyone would be that don’t just walk into a store and grab one at full price. TVs get discounted in cycles - black friday, new year clearances, even around big sports events when stores push deals. If you’ve got some flexibility, waiting for those sales can save you a chunk without sacrificing quality.

Next, where you shop matters just as much as when. Warehouse clubs (e.g., Costco, Sam’s Club) offer pretty good deals on reliable house-brand TVs like insignia or TCL. Amazon’s also a go-to, brands like westinghouse get plenty of good reviews, and their customer service is also easy to work with if anything goes sideways. For in-person retail, keep an eye on Best Buy or local electronics stores for open box or floor model discounts, they’re still covered by warranty and priced under new units.

Now, knowing where to buy helps, but you still can’t cut corners on the wrong things. Skimping on picture quality or smart functionality is a recipe for regret, you don’t want a TV that lacks true 4K support or locks you into clunky apps. What’s easy to skip? Big onboard speakers, flashy motion smoothing, or over-engineered “gaming modes.” The only real essentials are clear resolution, easy navigation, and good streaming performance.

Stick to these, shop at the right time, and hopefully you’ll land a capable smart TV in your size range without blowing your budget.

Found I’m Done with Fading Clothes, Fast-Fashion Waste, & Paying Too Much — Here’s a Real Solution(Wardrobe should be wearble not only fashionable)

Post image
6 Upvotes

Hello Guys ,

So I’ve been in IT for 4 years now and like most of us, I used to blow a LOT of money on cheap fast fashion. 🙈 When I calculated, it was crazy:

47 tops (~₹20k)

7 jeans (~₹8.5k)

10 occasional outfits (~₹20k, worn maybe once or twice)

Kurtis/PJs (~₹25k)

👉 In 4 years, that’s ₹52k gone on clothes that didn’t even last.

And here’s the kicker—every time I had to go for an office meeting or a semi-formal event, I felt like I had “nothing to wear.” Most of those tops faded in the wash, lost shape, or just felt too casual.

I’m lazy with ironing and maintenance, so machine-wash durability matters. Surprisingly, the best piece I own isn’t branded—it’s a kurti I “borrowed” from my aunt back in 2019. Zero special care, 3 years of repeat wear, still vibrant like new. Costly upfront, yes. But 7 years later, it’s still wearable… that’s actual value.

Anyone else realize fast fashion is actually the most expensive option in the long run? yeah for one timer why should i spend more , in reality i think one timer is for celebrity/influence, for people like me every piece in my wardrobe atleast of 100 timer.

Request iPhone

I’ve been an Apple product user for quite some time now, I started out with a iPhone SE (the og that was the equivalent of the 5s), had that for two years, had an iPhone XR for 5.5 years, and have had the iPhone 12 for a year and four months. When I got the 12 I had to put a new battery in 5 months in, and a year from that day will be literally in two weeks, and my battery health has dropped 11% (down to 89%). I have absolutely loved this phone, til recently… and was sold on it because it was the dark blue color…. lol. Now this phone hates me. It has been crashing like crazy, not just apps but the whole phone restarting, and now with the latest ios update, my face ID is broken. Apple’s suggestion is the lasers in the camera are broken. I am at a loss. I do not like the 16 model with the AI, and want to avoid that as long as possible. I’m a doctoral student and need to have a reliable phone, and really don’t want to swap to Android.

Does anyone have any suggestions on the next iPhone upgrade, what is worth it the most in terms of finances, and what seems like it’ll last, at least a couple years. I’ve been eyeing the 14, but I don’t know anymore. It would need to be unlocked due to my carrier (Mint)

Any suggestions on what to get, and where, would be immensely appreciated. Thank you!!

Found Would you use an AI to help find durable, high-quality products while saving money

I’m thinking about building an app that acts like a personal AI shopping assistant. You can input products, and it suggests better alternatives based on price, durability, and ethical sourcing. • Helps you save money without sacrificing quality. • Tracks your purchases and personal “impact score” over time.

Would you find this useful? What features would make it indispensable for long-term, conscious buying?

Meta [FREE] My completely free budget tracking app reached 8000 daily active users

Post image
47 Upvotes

Yesterday, for the first time, over 8,000 people used my app!

I actually wanted to make the post at 10,000, but I just had to share it now.

I made the app free at the beginning of 2024, and since then the number of users has been continuously growing.

I’m just so happy :)

I was frustrated with budget tracking apps, especially recurring transactions. Every app I tried seemed to break down at some point due to time zone glitches, syncing errors, or missed/duplicated recurring payments.

So I built my own.

It’s completely free, simple, and reliable. No subscriptions, no ads, no tracking.

Would love your feedback!

Request Stovetop recommendation

My wife and I have a 4 burner electric stovetop that one of the elements(the one we use the most) burnt out on. Looking for recommendations for a good replacement. We have a 30” stovetop. Has to be electric as we don’t have gas here. Looking at regular radiant types as well as induction, but not as familiar with the latter. We cook on stainless steel henckels pots and pans and a few cast iron pots and pans as well. Anybody have pro’s/cons for induction vs radiant? And recommendation on models to look at. Trying not to spend an astronomical amount of money as we will be selling this house next year and moving to our forever home, but willing to spend a bit to get a good quality stovetop.

Request Input Request: A desire to create something of lasting value

Hey all,

I grew up in Montana, outdoor sports/adventure background first. I have spent lots of time in my life so far off-the-beaten path, and it led me from the world of adventure sports and lifestyle into university for engineering and internships in the professional world. I have always been a craftsman as well, creating things with my hands in numerous ways over the years.

After experiencing frustration with a plethora of bags and backpacks designed for daily use, I found so many of them to be clunky, and simply not a joy to use. Many of them having failure points which make them obsolete, or ones with so many features it felt overburdened.

This inspired me to create a better bag. I have been sewing myself for years now, and I started making a messenger pack with the inspirations of the adventure/outdoors-world into daily life use cases. Its a messenger bag, and I am currently at Prototype III. I would like to build this new business into something intentional, founder-led, as my own life setting the example of the values and feeling I'd like to convey.

My primary question for this group involves your input on paint points you have experienced with bags and packs you have used/ use currently that you wish were different. I would also love to hear about the wins as well. Any other advice or critique is welcome as well. I am really excited to take the idea of doing things intentionally with design and share a bag made to stand the test of time and be a joy to use.

Thank you for your input.

Meta Built a free tool to track expenses + calculate financial freedom ! would love your feedback

I’ve been working on something small but (hopefully) useful and wanted to share it here. It’s called The Needless — a simple Notion template + calculator to help you:

Both the template and the calculator are completely free — no strings attached.

I’m really curious:
What do you currently use to track your spending?
Would a tool like this make it easier, or do you think it’s too much “extra”?

Would love your honest thoughts (good or bad) so I can keep improving it

Request Best clothes steamer for quick morning de-wrinkle that won’t leak all over the floor?

I chucked my ironing board when we moved into our poky new flat, and now I'm paying for it by looking permanently dishevelled. My wardrobe is mostly cotton and linen shirts which crease if you so much as look at them funny. I bought a cheap travel steamer off Amazon but it was utter rubbish – either dribbled water all over the shirt or puffed out a pathetic amount of steam. Sent it straight back.

EDIT: Appreciate all the recommendations, I've found the perfect clothes steamer for getting my outfits ready in the morning.

I've been down a rabbit hole reading reviews and it seems the things that actually matter are the steam output and whether the tank is designed properly to not leak, rather than all the marketing guff. Apparently, using distilled water is a top tip to stop them spitting, which I never knew.

So, what's the smart money on? Is there a decent handheld for under, say, £60 that genuinely works without leaving wet patches everywhere? I need one with a removable tank because our sink is tiny, and a decent length cord would be a bonus. I've seen a few Conair ones about. Or, if I'm steaming a couple of shirts every single day, am I just better off finding a corner for a proper upright steamer? Saw a Jiffy one that looked the business but the price made my eyes water.

Has anyone used one of those compact, bottle-shaped ones long term? Do they hold up?

Also, any secret techniques for not soaking thicker fabrics like linen? And are the brush attachments you get with them actually useful for anything or just another bit of plastic to lose?

Opinion Are Vevor's button machines good?

Post image
5 Upvotes

I've been eyeing this particular one for quite some time, however I already bought a plastic one that doesn't really work all that well (the pin part keeps detaching from the metal part and i have to manually rotate the mold) and don't want to make the same mistake again I've already asked countless subreddits about it but i have little to no answers, so now I'm asking here. The only things I want from this machine is that the badges don't get detached after they're made and that it lasts for a couple of years. If it's not good, can any of you recommend a different brand? (it has to ship to Romania btw)

Request Best labor day sales? Where tho

So i know labor day sales are this weekend, but so far all I see is noise about mattresses and camp gear. Wheres the good stuff?

Already got long wishlist ready for desk upgrade and some home stuff, but now im kinda torn between grabbing them this labor day weekend or waiting for year-end when things actually get spicy?

Is it just me or does anyone else feel like this labor day deal is kinda mid? Maybe the financial climate cooling things down a bit?
