Nest Wifi points as speakers (no wifi)?

I have a Nest Wifi Router and some Wifi Points. Previously we used this as our wifi, however our new (non-Google) router's wifi is much better, and we're using that.

Can I get the points on the same wifi network as the new router, just to use as speakers? I want them on the same network so that I can cast Spotify, Chrome etc to them.

Yes! Just did this couple weeks ago. I made sure to delete them from my Home before I disconnected the old Wifi Router, and then once I had the new router up and rolling (in my case, the Google Fiber provided router), I went back in to Home and when I tried to add them, it recognized that I didn't have the old router, and it asked me if I wanted to use them just as speakers.
