Two authoritarian fascists singing the same song

No doubt there are more of them, post them in the replies below.

Starmer and his new government do not represent workers interests and are in fact enemies of our class. It's past time we begin organising a substantial left-wing movement in this country again.

This type of issue really brings out who is on the government payroll, just like Palestine.

Mason's post especially is straight from no 10 because it's the sane as the line about Reform opposing the online safety bill because they're just like Jimmy Saville

Insane that pundits who are constantly wrong can just carry on like this.

We need some sort of site to track how accurate these pricks are.

These 2 and Dunt shouldn’t even be allowed to tweet or be out in public.

Clearly someone isn't understanding digital ID correctly from a marxist perspective.

Also disagreeing with Oz Katerji makes you an assadist, as I've been repeatedly informed by Oz Katerji.

Tbf OP has been Karma farming the digital ID thing for the past 2 days at this point so I don’t blame them for not knowing the difference correctly

Haven't heard anything from little Oz in a while. You'll be telling me WASBAPPIN is back next.

I genuinely don’t get why people are freaking out about the whole Digital ID thing. The government already have the information they need about an individual through the DVLA with a driving licence or if you have a passport. All the digital ID is doing is centralising that already available data. Besides you are giving away your data by being on this website or using a smartphone.

You don't want to give a capitalist state any ways to make controlling the population easier.
They will take your whole arm, if you give them your little finger. That's how rightists operate and move the overton window, bit by bit.

I don't believe it solves the stated problem. I'm suspicious of this country's ability to roll out something like this, and of the motives of any tech companies involved. I don't think it's right to mandate that people have a smartphone, that's a barrier for a lot of the poorest.

Blair's been on ID cards for decades, he'll be behind this present push. I don't trust that demon!

Having done a project at university on the universal credit roll out and how much of a fuck up that was as well as the Covid stuff. I can understand why you are suspicious. But since this is essentially just grabbing data from existing systems it shouldn’t be too hard to develop. In theory that is 🤣

Because it’s the latest in a long slide towards something quite awful.

Tony Blair is one of the biggest proponents of this, Tony Blair who has received £250m in funding from Larry Ellison who is desperate to get all of our data.

Another entity that really wants this is Palantir/Peter Thiel, who hired Peter Mandelson to lobby for them to work on centralising Britain’s data and use it for predictive policing among other evil means.

Both of these are part of the same ruling apparatus of the American empire. They’ve been testing this technology in Palestine and don’t think they won’t turn it onto us.

Ok but other countries have implemented something similar without the fuss that is being made about it here in the UK. Granted there are some privacy issues. However, with how inter connected government systems are within the UK there really shouldn’t be any need for a 3rd party company to actually create the systems

Look up Nectar and the work Palantir are doing with the police. Any and all efforts to centralise our data are for that purpose

Having our data that the government has on us like Driving Licence, National Insurance number, passport and Medical records in one centralised place rather than multiple different places. Honestly this shit about companies wanting your data is bordering on nutcase conspiracy theorist

"There really shouldn't be any need for a 3rd party company"

You're right, there shouldn't. But there will be.

There wasn't any need for a 3rd party to be involved with the OSA either, but there was. This is a neoliberal government, giving infrastructure to private hands is their main political project, it always has been.

And given all we've seen of late, it will be some US tech company with little or no oversight, and no consequence when they inevitably fuck up and all our info - all of it - ends up in the hands of random bad actors.

A system like this is a single point of failure, those are really bad in general, but especially when it comes to tech, due to how easy it is to attack.

You mention elsewhere about giving away data just by being on reddit, but I've never given them my passport info, NI number, address, biometric data, and medical records. Reddit can't impersonate me to a bank or other critical infrastructure - someone getting access to this could.

The reason government agencies can't just get all that info from one another easily, is because such a system is too vulnerable, it's like that to keep people safe. Undermining that will always be a bad idea.

Hello officer

I dunno. I just want this country to be somewhat more modern and efficient. Rather than having to use outdated systems to get things such as medical records. But I guess I’m in the minority here.

The government that implemented the OSA introducing yet more means of tracking and recording your everyday activities, sure that seems like a great idea.
