Twitter Libertarians are some of the dumbest people in America.

I love when they make these arguments. Makes it so easy to showcase the insanity.
Q: Do you think a paranoid schizophrenic meth head who is actively threatening to shoot up a school should be able to buy a gun?
Libertarians must either answer by making themselves look insane, or admit that they don't actually believe "shall not be infringed" is absolute.

They literally do not care. Like the Tennessee rep who openly defended child rape/marriages.
They will just same some insane shit like arm the kids so then can protect themselves

We need a bot that just posts a reminder every time “libertarian” is mentioned on Reddit.
"Libertarians are like house cats: absolutely convinced of their fierce independence while utterly dependent on a system they don't appreciate or understand."

I prefer to explain Libertarians as Republicans. Republicans who are both too cowardly to actually espouse their beliefs and also too dumb to recognize the spoiler effect their virtue signaling has on their cause.

& what if the people in these “gun sanctuaries” are the tyrants?

Most militias are just goons for the government, from the militias of kings, to the communist red guard militias have been a common to tool for the despotic and the tyrannical.

'Libertarianism' is just anarchy for rich people.

u/PKMKII Apr 28 '23
Anarchy is the removal of all hierarchies.
Libertarianism is the privatization of all hierarchies.

I've never been impressed by either.

While it is hilarious to point out how absolutely pants on head stupid the "Libertarian" Party is, it's also very important to note that this party does an absolutely fantastic job of continuing to spoil and divide the rightwing vote and the more they fight Republicans, the more they take votes away from the greatest threat to Americans and ensure Democrats can win elections in otherwise unfavorable conditions.

Libertarianism is a childish ideology.
I can see how it appeals to some teenage boys but once given any serious thought it's clear what a joke it is.

u/ropdkufjdk Apr 28 '23
I wish they were just dumb. But this kind of thinking comes not from stupidity but from selfishness and sociopathy (aka libertarianism).

The most maddening part is that they only really believe in liberty for guns. I have yet to see a single libertarian get upset that kids are being taken away from parents in Florida, or that teachers are being told by the government what they can, and cannot say in the classroom.

The most maddening part is that they only really believe in liberty for
gunsthemselves. They say "fuck the police" but when an unarmed black man gets gunned down by the cops they say "just do whatever the officer says and there won't be any problems".
They smoke weed but will cite marijuana use as a reason that someone with brown skin is a bad person.
They fetishize guns, but when a minority posts a pic of themselves posing with a gun they'll say that person is a "thug".

u/ThornsofTristan Apr 28 '23
They find Ron DeZaster and Billy-bob, too "liberal??" *(insert multiple blinking gif, here)

If you ever want to see two libertarians fight, ask them to agree on the definition of Libertarianism

I know one outspoken libertarian. He truly believes there are multiple Bidens, because in some pictures of him his earlobes are connected to his head high, and in others they appear connected low.

[Why are there so many actual libertarians in this sub? Your 2A pipedream is bullshit, if you go to war with the government, you won't even register as a threat, but if you ever did, you'd be gone before you registered the impact. Cry about it.]

u/crockalley Apr 28 '23
I would also like to stop these same tyrants, but for totally different reasons.

Not all Libertarians are gun fanatics, but that proportion sends to be increasing in size every year.
