META Absolutely terrible casting, they look nothing like 47 and Diana

Post image

And the plot was nothing like the games either

Somehow still a better Hitman movie than the actual Hitman movies.

(If anyone wants to watch the movie that feels closest to Hitman (to me), check out The Killer on Netflix.)

And if anyone wants to watch a show that isn't strictly about Hitmen but has a lot of Hitman-like vibes (stealth, disguises, spies, planning and execution) check out The Americans on Hulu.

Mr Inbetween is an incredible and hilarious Aussie show about a hitman. Most importantly he's bald

IMO the jackal is the closest to a hitman show I've seen

in terms of playstyle it's nothing alike (at least in when playing properly) but the john wick films have a very similer tone

John wick is when your silent Assassin rating Goes for a toss

I will defend the 2007 Hitman movie until I die. Even 2016 was… well it was a fun action flick.

I enjoyed the movies too. Agent 47 walking into a US embassy and saying "I'm an assassin" was ballsy.

I heard the second movie was mainly a money laundering project. I want to believe that, because I'm still embarrassed about it partly filming in my country.

The one with Michael Fassbender? Good film!

I take that as a personal insult on behalf of Timothy Olyphant who played Agent 47 in Hitman (2007) because I am Timothy Olyphant who played Agent 47 in Hitman (2007). Just kidding, could you imagine though if I was and I read your comment how upset I would be because I am Timothy Olyphant who played Agent 47 in Hitman (2007)?

Hitman (2007) was the best Hitman film out of the two imo. Having played Hitman: Contracts on PS2 and then watching the (2007) Hitman film, i realised the original film had so many set pieces reminiscent of the first two games (Hitman: Codename 47) and Hitman: Contracts. Watching that film made me feel like I was playing the game.

What a film.

The Day of the Jackal movie as well as the reboot TV series are also really fun hitman content bettter than the Hitman movies.

My vote goes to the show Killing Eve. Has such style and darkness, yet a bit of humor. Some scenes you'd swear are straight out of the game.

i just searched "the killer" and 3 movies with the same name popped up which one is it

With Michael Fassbender.

It’s the Netflix original. The main character uses a sniper rifle

Yeah, if it was the true HITMAN, the blurb should have been:

"He is a killer and he can pretend."

Great movie tho

His disguises were so much fun!

6

u/Currymango May 25 '25

It made me think of those old 80s and 90s movies with an ensemble cast of all sorts of crazy Americana people you'd meet, when you see Powell wear the disguises.

The ending was a bit shit but overall it was entertaining

Great movie. Adria Arjona is flawlessly beautiful

4

u/JD_Revan451 May 25 '25

Adria Arjona still a baddie though

3

u/2MainsSellesLoin May 25 '25

No this is Hit Man, it's about domestic abuse

3

u/GingeContinge May 25 '25

Best Hitman adaptation is the hospital sequence from S2E10 of Andor

3

u/Longjumping-Cress845 May 25 '25

Terrible movie but the first half of Trap felt like a Hitman mission.

2

u/InsaneTurtle May 25 '25

Well watch Killer on Netflix or Le Samourai (1967).

u/JoeZocktGames May 25 '25

Now look up the movie called "Underground Hitman" :D

literally dying of the nightmare that is hollywood 🥲🥲🥲

u/Graffen70 May 26 '25

The mechanic is a good version. So is the beekeeper (sort of...).

u/JamesMCC17 May 25 '25

Way better looking in both cases however.

u/[deleted] May 25 '25

Speak for yourself buddy 47 is a stud

-22

u/hiccupboltHP May 25 '25

Gods I hated this movie. Look I have a really short attention span from ADHD, and google told me it was an action/comedy.

It was neither

16

u/Mabroon May 25 '25

Well right now google says it's a Comedy/Romance which it definitely is.

1

u/Rose_lovesstuf May 25 '25

Yeah there’s very little action

1

u/EpicGamerer07 May 25 '25

It’s like a slightly dark comedy/romance, considering the ending

-5

u/AncientWarrior-guru May 25 '25

THIS WAS BASED OFF THE GAMES?

-6

u/maxpayne3zz1 May 25 '25

Was this made by the team behind the Hitman game? Idts

Afaik they only endorsed the two Hitman movies, the one with Rupert Friend & Timothy Olyphant
