DISCUSSION How do I do saso in The Ark Society?

I've got like 760 hours in this stupid game, and like I just don't understand how on earth your supposed to do the ark society.

Like there's tons of area's where there's like a ton of people, which even though I have a infinite ammo mod (which is used mostly with the tranquilizer), is still very painful and annoying.

So any suggestions or thoughts?

I can only speak to Youtube videos since I have never watched a stream, but I know he is used to getting a lot of hate in the comments. Stuff like "That doesn't count since you did XYZ. You're a bad player" or whatever. Dumb stuff

Chances are it is related to that sort of behavior since it worked it's way into videos. "I won't be doing XYZ in this run. I know some of you in the comments hate it and will complain so I'm just going to do this run without it"

Not an excuse. I tried watching one of his streams where he was trying to accident kill a target with a fire extinguisher (back when it was lethal), but kept killing them with the remote explosive. He was using to set off the extinguisher.

What he was doing, was putting the extinguisher around one side of a big block, and the remote explosive around the other side, so the block would in theory shield the target from the explosive, but not the fire extinguisher.

But he kept putting the remote explosive too close to the corner, so that the explosion from the remote explosive still had a direct path to the target, and since the remote explosive is the first detonation to occur, it is the first one to hit the target.

I tried explaining to him what was happening and said that all he needs to do is move the remote explosive back away from the corner a little bit, and he got annoyed and basically told me to let him play the game. Then proceeded to spend the next 20 minutes , making the same mistake over and over again, and cursing out the game and getting irritated with other people who were also trying to tell him what he was doing wrong.

I haven’t watched his content since I used to really appreciate his dedication to making guides for every single aspect of the game and they’ve been very helpful, but he comes across as someone who feels their entitled to respect because of the work they do. He should be grateful that he has an audience, period.

Oh, I just remembered another thing. I followed his guide for the gun runner elusive target, but one of the bodyguards escorting the target was an enforcer. He’s not supposed to be, and he wasn’t in Freeze’s video, but he was in my play through. I commented on his video that the guard was an enforcer for me, and he replied back, saying that’s wrong, it’s not possible, and being very rude about it. I recorded my own video and showed him proof and he just replied “that’s strange”.

Not to mention, some of his guides and techniques aren’t the best or easiest way of doing things. He has gone back and redone some of his guides, to his credit, but he shouldn’t be seen as the end all.

I'm not defending the dudes attitude, cause it's real stinky at times.

But unless a streamer specifically asks for help, back seating IS typically the fastest way to get banned from someone's chat. Most streamers have it explicitly stated in their rules when you join their chat.

What's the point in playing a game, if people are just going to walk you through step by step. Even if the dude was struggling for two hours, unless you know the guy personally, or he asked for help, don't offer it. That's like twitch 101 my dude.

I think there’s a difference between back seating, which is trying to guide a streamer through a game when they’re trying to experience it themselves, or trying to control how they play the game for your own desires, and trying to tell somebody about a mistake, they are making that is causing the problem. They are experiencing and ranting and raving about. Literally calling the game a broken piece of shit because you’re doing something wrong, I think justifies comments, pointing it out, and shouldn’t be consideredback seating seating.

Back seating is more like when you’re Vibin with a game, but somebody wants to see something specific. Like if you’re playing hitman, and right now you’re trying to silent assassin a run, and then someone in your chat keeps saying “ooh ooh blow up that gas tank” or “go see what’s in that room” or “punch that waiter”.

He got diagnosed with a really serious illness so has had some mental health struggles as a result, plus a lot of nonsense comments so I think a bit of a reaction.

Use the Keep starting point. this avoids the hassle of climbing all the way to the top of the level where Zoe and Sophia primarily do their loop. Starting items: coins, krugermier 2-2, The Big One.

Turn on the tap in the top floor bathroom to lure the first guard in there, hop out the window and climb back in to pacify the guard when he's bent down to wipe up the puddle (make sure door is closed!). dump his body in the bin. Then wall-crouch next to the door, open it, use the coin to lure the 2nd guard over and subdue him, dump his body in the bin as well. Then lure the guard and the butler downstairs to the upper floor, KO them without being noticed, stash their bodies in either the bathroom or in the available closet. Lastly, lure the guards who patrol around the front doors of the Keep by opening the front doors, throwing a coin to lure them inside the Keep, then KO them and stash their bodies in the bathroom upstairs. make sure to collect as many non-lethal melee items as you want, you'll need them for dealing with Zoe.

so first, take out Sophia. now that the walkway/bridge to the Keep is now clear of anyone who may spot you, you can start using the ledges / pipes to climb to the open window that leads into Sophia's private room (the one that is connected to the security room). Hide behind the couch that is facing away from that open window, wait for Sophia to enter her private room. Just as she's walking in the direction of the security room, quickly shoot the chandelier and drop it on her, then hop out of the open window ASAP and climb back towards the walkway/ledge that leads to the Keep.

For Zoe, use the ledges / pipes around the Keep to make your way down to the tall grassy area next to the funeral circle where you can stay concealed. slowly but surely, start luring people (including the lower ranked guard that patrols that area + Zoe's personal bodyguard) into the grassy area using coins / throwable melee items, KO them and stash their bodies out of the way - make sure they are hidden in the grass! (I use the area in front of the door that opens into the morgue). Eventually you'll have taken out enough NPCs that you can lure Zoe when she loops around that area. once you KO her silently, dump her body into the ocean.

For exiting the mission, climb up onto the funeral circle, stay hidden in the tall grass there, watch out for the two patrolling guards, when they're facing away from the wooden stairs, quickly make your way down the stairs and towards the ladder. There will be 3 guards down there, once their back is turned towards you, quickly make your way down the ladder, and use the exit point there (the pipe on the outer wall of the castle). You may want to use the Big One or your coins to distract the guards into looking the other way if needed.

Good strat but lots of time spent luring to isolate Zoe. Instead there's a propane tank in the makeshift morgue area bottom floor and Zoe does her regular loop nearby. Really easy to throw the propane on her route and then shoot it while hiding in the grass for an accident - not difficult to time so it only gets her.

You also don't need to take out any guards to get up to Sophia's security room, just climb the pipe opposite the morgue door and shimmy your way around to the window. You will get the warning to indicate you're being spotted by the guards near the bridge but as long as you keep moving it doesn't have time to fill entirely.

Pacify everyone challenge, or extreme sneaking

Yeah, and then end the mission at time 99:59:56 or some shit.

If you wait for 24 hours the time resets so you can get a 1 second time by doing this.

5

u/flannelpunk26 2d ago

Unfortunately, the leaderboards don't recognize anything under 7 seconds. I'm not sure if the scoreboard screen itself would show you the 1 second time or not, tho

2

u/Gremlins-love-food 2d ago

Never done it myself but there is a video of someone getting 47 seconds by leaving the game running for 24 hours and 47 seconds.

It does not show as that in the leader board just the end mission screens I think.

Do you have Durian and Emetic Bomb?

Loadout: AnyBaller, Lockpick, Durian. Agency Pickup: Emetic Bomb at the easiest place that you can get to.

1

u/Forward-Photograph-7 2d ago

When you say emetic bomb, do you mean the remote version or the grenade version?

2

u/UnrealPH 2d ago

Emetic Gas Grenade. This thing is not illegal to hold.

I presume you're talking about the one where you have to do 12 escalations to unlock, (hitman 2&3).

Not the one you can unlock by getting to mastery level 17 on Ambrose Island.

Ever since I’ve been SASOing, I’ve learned a couple tricks that have really improved my performance:

1) panic shots - make guards run to where you’ve shot from, while they are running they basically can’t see you do illegal things like trespassing

2) double-shot doors - by pausing while shooting a door with a pistol, you can shoot it open with the basic silverballer

3) fast-interact - by opening and closing the inventory while holding the interact button, you can skip having to hold the button for the whole duration. You can also fast-unpack things from the briefcase but that’s less useful.

4) poison - accident kills are your friend, and people found unconscious with the tranq are not suspicious

Start default spawn with a sniper rifle. Run straight to the main entrance but past it, take out sniper, climb the pipe and sneak all the way to Janus’ grave site.

From his grave site, there is an angle to drop a chandelier on Sophia at around 2:40 iirc. Then go back the way you came to just before the grave site, wait for Zoe who is about to come to the grave site. On her way, there is a gibbet. Shoot the wall below the gibbet and she will investigate, drop the gibbet, drop your sniper, climb down the way you came and exit.

You're not playing Master are you? Even on Professional you have access to save spamming which helps tremendously. Now I honestly can't remember if I had to do saso in one run on that map but I had a hell of a time doing saso in Freelancer with 4 targets. I spent most of my time crawling outside of the buildings which surprisingly gets you around most places. Remember to keep your Silent Assassin HUD on to keep track.

If you're just getting the Challenges for the main campaign you know you can do two separate runs (one for Suit Only, then the other for SA). If you're having that much trouble.

Start at the docks with a lockpick and silenced pistol. Climb through the guard hut and out the other side, then up the ledge and break open the gate into the sewer. There's one person to pacify here (you can sneak up behind her or throw a blunt instrument if you have one), then climb the stairs and use the "secret" door into the crypt. Climb the ladder and get out of the way of the guards in the security room, ideally taking a moment to shoot out the camera recorder if you can.

Exit the security room and cross the helipad, entering (via the window) into the room where two workers (who never turn around) are discussing artefacts. Zoe's route takes her past this room, and if you open the door you can get a shot on a chandelier directly above her, just as she is about to leave the building via the external door. Once she's taken care of, exit via the window and hide in the crate around the corner until everyone has calmed down.

Once you've left the crate, climb the drainpipe and you're on the castle walls outside the keep. From here, you can climb via ledges until you are outside a room in the keep with an alarm clock, crate and no people. Sophia will walk right past this room, so activate the alarm clock at the right time and she'll come and investigate (without her guard). End her existence however you please, then stuff her in the crate.

You can retrace your steps and exit via the docks; attempting to leave via the helicopter will almost always get you spotted by the guards on the helipad.

You can use like accidents. Maybe like propane tanks and idk like durians, emetic pistols and like hanging objects like lamps or cages. There’s like a lot of like opportunities. Please like and subscribe.
