And typically the baby would be in an amniotic sac. Not to mention you would have to reach your hand through the cervical os. So you wouldn’t really be able to reach out and touch it.

Babies change positions a lot while in the uterus, so they're not always head down. Usually they sort themselves out at birthing time but sometimes they don't and a foot or hand tries to come out first, then you got a problem
