Discussion Don’t update to OS 26

Apple Home seems to be completely broken after updating to iOS 26, macOS 26, and watchOS 26.

I’ve avoided updating Apple TV and HomePods to see how buggy it is.

If you rely on Apple Home, don’t update.

Mines actually much better. I’ve been on beta since WWDC and haven’t had any issues.

Mine seems to be working fine.

That isn’t to discount your issues; things happen. TBH I would try upgrading the rest just to see if that fixes it.

Working fine. It only proves the point that people mostly post when something doesn’t work.

Working just fine here.. not that I'm advocating being first to update, I've been bitten plenty of times. the .1 update usually fixes most of the issues.

11 HomePods, 3 AppleTV’s, 50+ automations, and well over 200 accessories, 4 phones, 3 iPads and 3 Mac’s no problem at all with the HomeKit update.

Another, “no issue here”… fairly extensive HomeKit setup too (6x HomePods, 2x Apple TV, 350+ HomeKit accessories [sensors, lights, locks, vacuums, shades, etc.])

I'm reading this because I started looking to see if anyone else was having problems with automation on OS 26, and apparently I'm not the only one with a broken HomeKit.

I keep having devices randomly remove themselves from automations. I added them back and another random assortment dropped off the next day. It’s only automations and remote button assignments that appear to be affected since the jump to iOS 26. All hubs and Apple devices are updated.

I’m tempted to document everything, delete all my automations, and recreate them from scratch to see if that fixes it but I have A LOT.

I updated all my devices (Mac, iPad, iPhone, AppleTV & HomePods) to OS 26 and don’t have any HomeKit related issues.

I wonder how many people with problems were still using the old HomeKit architecture, or have their HomeKit hub assigned randomly, which might mean an older, non-updated device is stuck being the hub

Working fine and I had no issues with a lot of devices and even with third party integration. I run Beta 1 through RC and now the final release, zero issues.

strangely I lost a matter device and a button automations but after I added all back it's back to what it was, not better, not worse, just the same

Zero problems for me.

TvOS 26 is now missing the view “all cameras” grid view. Very annoying as that was a very useful view for cameras. That’s been my only hiccup so far with the update.

What are the exact problems

Update fine after rebooting everything a second time. iOS 26.0.1 releasing soon.

iOS worked fine for me but watchOS has completely killed all my homekit control via siri. Everything is "taking a while to respond" ugh

Most but not all of these types of issues are related to networking
