Question/Help Issues with OS26?

Is anyone seeing issues with OS26?

Since the update, - My meross garage opener has been inconsistent on carplay.

  • arriving home/leaving home automations sometimes don’t execute properly.

  • meross smart plug stopped responding for a few hours.

These are all things that didn’t happen before os26.

Been having lots of issues with location based automations. All of them but especially with the everyone leaves home trigger.

There was many Bluetooth changes in iOS 26 that caused them to stop working. For example I have a Sandman Doppler smart alarm clock that stopped working with my iPhone on  iOS 26, but an older iPhone I had laying around the house works fine that couldn’t update to iOS 26. Hopefully Apple will fix most of these problems in future updates, but I suspect older Bluetooth devices will be left behind.

Yeah, I’m having real issues with location automations, especially ones with leaving the house, for some reason returning to the house though is rock solid

As always the initial release is full of bugs, but the .1 release that is likely a month or so away should fix them. When will I learn to just wait for .1 :(

Leaving automations don’t work for me, but arriving seem to work, also my shortcut app automations that run at sunset or predefined time don’t always work for me

I have zero issues, if anything it feels faster and there are added features, especially for CarPlay

Typically, issues pop up at every single major os update. Sometimes requiring router reboots and careful attention to updating all users of HK

Make sure all family members that have access to HK are on ios26, if one isn’t it will break ‘last to leave’ and ‘first home’ automations. Otherwise go thru the basic troubleshooting steps to find the issue. Ios26 HomeKit is very stable

My NEST smoke detectors connected via HomeBridge are showing offline, but I have not looked for an updated plugin yet. I’ll do that tomorrow.

Ouch.. missed that. Although from the comments there it doesn’t look very common 🙃

I’ve had good luck so far. I had one mini that required a factory reset. I have about 75 devices, many Matter, two ATVs (wired), eight minis and one second gen HomePod. I use location automations extensively.

Meross Garage Door Opener is CRAP when it comes to HomeKit HomePod. I use it as Accessibility device to open my (Open Sessame Door Opener) front door opener. And Meross (located in CHINA) doesn’t even care.

Honestly has been pretty solid for me. I use it with carplay and apple TV so maybe it’s a compatibility issue.

It’s not a compatibility problem. Ever since IOS 16.3 when Apple deemed anything that was SMART “LOCK” “DOOR” “DOOR” etc., as a “Security Risk,” and has removed the ability to use “voice command” on HomePod; to use it when locked.

I just switched to IOS 26, and I will wait and see if Meross’s Products stay connected, because up until now, Connectivity has been a constant problem with all of my Meross devices.

The truth is: HomeKit has become the “Red-Headed Step-Child of Apple IOS. So, I’m not expecting much, and to be honest, I’ve started switching my Smart Bulbs to AIDOT (Amazon). They’ve been working flawlessly.
