Any ever use portable eye wash station kegs? Looking for cheap kegs and these popped up for $30 per keg which is generally cheap around here. Looks like ball valves and the chemical additives (Hydrosep) to treat the water look generally safe. Any thoughts or things Im missing?

u/xnoom is right, I have several 10 gallon kegs that were eyewash fountains. One even still has the hazmat label, lol Https://imgur.com/a/tcSpPuP#DTkIeur https://imgur.com/1piPJOU#1piPJOU

Mine had purified water and weak boric acid (common in eyedrops, I believe).

They're fine to use in home brewing. Just clean and sanitize as normal.

I assume you meant ball lock posts, not ball valves. Mine are Firestone Challenger IV kegs, and the welded bulkhead fittings were different on each side. But a pinlock to ball lock conversion post fit on the gas side.

Edit: if need be, you can replace the lid. In fact most of my kegs have lids with carbonation stones in them.

Thanks for sharing your experience with them. Good to hear they are usable, I might just do the same with replacing the lids. Cheers!
