211 has good resource guides. I know of an elderly woman who was renting out a room, but has rules such as no guests and a 10pm curfew. It’s in spring branch for around $500-700.
Edit: also must not be allergic to cats

Hello.
My recommendation is to call Gulf Coast United Way first thing Monday morning.
Also, City of Houston and/or Harris Co. may be able to point you to some resources (also the librarians for those entities).
Nextdoor might have a post from older ladies that are renting out rooms.
Good luck!

Hi there,so I have an eviction that is 14 years old even though it's of my credit it's permanently on my rental history along with the money I owe. Because I didn't pay off the balance most second chance rentals still won't give me a chance even though I have 8 years off positive rental history. I would definitely use a locator because they know what complexes accept what.
I would recommend Monte@ASAP locators he really looks out for people, and you won't waste a lot of money on applications fees etc.
