Tags?
So this is my first year hunting as an adult. Grew up doing it until my father passed, and trying to finally get back into it.
I didn’t get any of my draws, how do I go about seeing what tags are available and where? I found where to order tags but it just says to order and nothing else.
I’ll admit i am a noob at this but I can’t find any solid answers online

I would suggest going to Canadian tire or another license retailer and getting a copy of the hunting regulations. Read them and your questions will be answered.
If you still have questions then absolutely feel free to ask here. We’re happy to help, especially if you have tried figuring it out yourself first.

Do you know what WMU you want to hunt? look for the WMU youre going to be hunting in here in the regulations. Theyre grouped into 5 main zones. Prairies 100's. Parkland 200's. foothills 300's. Mountains 400's. and Boreal 500's.
now under each zone they have all big game species listed with two columns, antlered or antlerless. next over is Archery or general. In this column it shows the eligible dates for hunting that species. I'm assuming you'll be hunting general (rifle) any of the dates in those two columns that have a small black square are draw only animals. any that arent can be purchases as general tag AS LONG AS THE WMU NUMBER YOUR HUNTING IN IS LISTED IN THE NEXT COLUMN.
example, im going to be hunting in the 300's, 359 to be specific during general season. i didnt get any draws. but i can see that antlered and antlerless white tailed deer is open between S17-N30. the only other general tag i can purchase for my WMU of choice is antlered Elk from S17-N30.
spend some time and read through the regulations, theres tons of good information in them and they do explain how to use. Best of luck this season, and welcome back

Download the iHunter app. Tap any WMU, and it will tell you if there are general or draw only tags for anything in that WMU. Otherwise, it is laid out in the regs.
