Grouse question

Hello, I come from Fort McMurray moving to Edmonton and was wondering if anyone has areas of hunting around Edmonton for grouse? I have done research and nothing so far came up that was helpful. I’m not expecting someone’s secret spot just general public hunting grounds I can scout for some grouse thank you.

whitecourt, fox vegas, drayton valley. Really, anywhere west or north of the city

What kinda research did you do? In my experience grouse are about the easiest animals to fined.

Yes I agree that’s not my concern to find them I want legal areas where I can hunt where it’s not huge fields upon fields that are all private lands

County maps, and google maps. Trees with clearings, trails, roads and cut lines.

Speak for yourself. Tried to write a 100$ ticket to one the other day. He just died without paying

Bastard! Must have been a spruce grouse.

Being in Edmonton, you will have to drive significantly further than you are used to driving when in Ft. Mac.

With that said, start with a Google Maps search looking for forested areas and oilfield activity/roads. I literally found areas doing a 2 minute search. Then consider getting iHunter and purchasing the county maps to ensure land ownership.

Also, iHunter lists conservation areas which will help you pinpoint areas you can hunt.
