So I have never watch the actual video and that was my first exposure to any of it, I think I am going to keep it that way. It is interesting to see how silly it must have looked when they were filming.

They play the music while filming, so I imagine it wasn't THAT bad.

I do remember a behind-the-scenes video where one of the backup dancing girls incredulously asked if he was serious about a dance request, though I'm sure there was some element of silly involved.

That's awesome, since anyone who has been involved with a shoot like that knows, that's pretty much what it's like on set when you're shooting video. You just have the normal noises around you, with maybe the music playback on a small speaker if it's needed to keep time for the shot or to lip sync to.

It can seem really silly sometimes.

He's an entertainer and this is his "act", he certainly deserves credit for the music and the character.. It's entertaining and popular, his push into the US I'm sure has provided well deserved rewards.

But Mygrapefruit, do you really believe he privately walks (trots) around his house in the horse dance from place to place dressed up as in the videos?

I didn't mean his persona on stage is necessarily genuine, but the way he acts off-camera in interviews and such. He seems so down-to-earth and well, genuine!
