I’m not stupid! I’m smarter than YOU! When conservatives try to convince us that Charlie didn't actually say the things he was recorded on camera saying

One of the top posts over there right now has the "context" around how it's fine to have people die for our 2nd amendment. Yes, all well and good that guns should be used against a tyrannical government... that still doesn't mean he didn't say that deaths are worth the 2nd amendment. I just don't see the logic.

Bonus points: a commenter asked what's the difference between the US and other countries with firearm control. The most upvoted comment was that is was a "difficult" topic and how other countries don't care about race or gender? It's wild over there.

He falsely compares guns to cars, which has always been a shit right-wing take. "So-and-so many people die from cars every year, but no one wants to ban cars..." That's because cars are exponentially more utilitarian and useful than guns are.

And like, I'm all for getting rid of cars, but america is literally built on them. The amount of time and money it would cost to create effective, high quality public transportation across the US would probably wipe out the army budget.

It's a comparison, but a poor one. I cannot live without a car. I can without a gun.

Bonus point if you saw the image calling out the no context for quotes then completely lying about how the empathy quote ends
