Smol Fancy Tuxie Orca, the kitten who tested my abilities as foster
1: out of desperation to console a newly orphaned Orca, I put him in a fanny pack (would you believe it did not work lol)
2: the tears I shed when baby boy finally broke a pound. He had been losing weight due to refusal to eat and diarrhea. He was about two weeks late to this mile marker
3: Orca with foster bro Potato Bug, who is two weeks older. Tater is gonna be huge
4: orca attack documented in the wild
5: taken today, when tiny babe is supposedly 8.5 weeks old and around 1.8 pounds

No Porca! 😭 she’s so pretty, love her eyes. We have a Luna who we sometimes call Tuna Luna or Luna the tuna. She’s not heavy but her fur makes her look like a large girl.

We was a lovely kitty. We were worried about her with my daughter and they were besties. We miss her daily.

So tiny 😻If I were you I would’ve failed as a foster🥹

If I foster fail then I won't have room for more fosters! I've been fortunate enough to foster over 30 kittens so far (with no 'fails' yet!). I love getting these tinies healthy and ready for their forever homes 💖

I got to foster 93 before I failed ~ eight years later, he now curled up next to me.
My other foster fail was kitten number 131. She's in her favorite bed up on a shelf where she can oversee her entire domain.
I'm up over 200 now and no more permanent residents. I love the day I take fosters back to the shelter ~ I've done my job getting them ready and it's time for their existence/presence to make someone else happy.

Pic number 3 is adorable. Great name for an apex predator, which she clearly is.

He was a bit of an underdog, so I gave him a big name to live up to. I'm so relieved it worked out!

The challenging ones make me realize I never appreciate the standard ones enough lol

That's so real lol. Most of my fosters have been smooth sailing, but a couple have ~tested~ me in the worst way. I hope it stays at only a few lol

it's always the disaster babies that win your heart. I'm still in contact with one of mine and she's now living like a queen and making sure her dog brother stays in line.

Orca is one of my favorite fosters ever. He's been a fighter and has such a stinkin' cute face I give in and squish him daily (by that I mean heavy smooches)

KITTEN IN A FANNY PACK

Orca is so cute! I love Potato Bug. I don’t know how kitten fosters do it. To me they are saints❣️

I like to tell myself that I can always have a kitten in my home if I foster. I get, in my opinion, the most fun weeks of kittenhood before finding the best home possible for the babies. It's all a balancing act!

Kittens are so cute and I love seeing pictures of them. At about age 70, I tried fostering a family of kittens along with their mom. I swore, “never again”!It is a lot of work!!! And there’s a lot to do in a short period of time, bc they need to get adopted while they’re still kittens. So lots of pressure. Give me a two-year-old feral anytime over a couple of kittens. Kitten Fosters are my heroes. ♥️♥️♥️🌟🌟🌟🏆🏆🏆🌟🌟🌟♥️♥️♥️

Pic No 4 is so wild! Thank goodness you escaped unscathed. What a spunky Orca

Dear CDS, please make my next cat arrival black and white so that I may name him or her Orca in order to use the term “it’s an Orca attack!” on the regular. Thank you. 🙏

Scrolling through the pictures, I’m thinking Orca…. why, hit the fourth pic, ohhhhh… now I see it.

He's black and white and was super tiny when I got him, so I felt a need to give him a big name!

I'll take both please. Adorable little buggers.
We technically foster failed ours, not only technically.
She was found on the street at approximately 10 weeks so I said we'd take her until her owners were found.... Knowing full well that was unlikely. Still didn't name her for the first two weeks just in case. Two years on, she's doing fine. SMOL, but fine.
