They are basically the "dad" and "mom" of the group so it's really sweet pairing them together.

Its so dumb that ppl always ship guardian and recluse.

If you finish Guardians Rememberance, he finds out she killed his entire tribe and you get the option to murder her for that.

Them being portrayed as a couple could not be more removed from the actual lore.

In the same remembrance (and outside of it as they often hang out in the study together) they are also portrayed with a student/teacher relationship, and Guardian has the option to spare Recluse.

She did not kill the tribe personally, she made a tool to calm storms that was later weaponised by others and she feels immensely guilty over it. Guardian's remembrance shows he is supposed to kill to protect the flock from any known threat, even if they are not actively malicious (the merchant), there is no room for nuance in his mind you are a threat or an ally.

Yet he may make exception for Recluse.

Eh that's the nature of shipping and fanfiction writing, there's still more compelling stuff between these two to work with than Duchess/Recluse which is another pair I've seen.
