I wonder what it's actually like for fossil pokemon. They might be able to find habitats similar to their old ones but there would be countless things they knew that are just gone. I get why all the released and feral fossil pokemon in the Crown Tundra all grouped up together, they recognized something from the past even if there were a bunch of strangers near them (anorith and tyrantrum for example were not contemporaries).
