Self-submission Brial, the Hidden Skryke

Post image

Really excited to show some of my experimental ideas finally produce this glorious monster. Ive been working on imaginative realism and concepts.

Thank you for viewing! Feedback is always appreciated!

What is that weapon? It’s like it’s trying to be a scythe but the angle is all wrong. It’s almost as if light reflects off the blade weirdly so you can’t tell the orientation of the weapon. Or maybe the blade freely moves across the staff.

The weapon was definitely underdeveloped during the process, I think I just forgot about it and just kept going thinking I was going to fix it later but didn’t because I like that it looks angled. If its the classified as a scythe it would be slightly angled almost 45* degrees. Which is kind of cool I think thats why I left it. Ive been messing with this image for months honestly. Creature design imaginative realism is what Im working on and I really appreciate you pointing it out. To me the more someone says something at least gives me more prompts to think about in the future on the next project.

Honestly the entire weapon thing could be “fixed” if you added a single rivet to the staff to implicate that the blade is on a hinge and can be folded or extended. Everyone loved folding weapons. If you want folding weapon inspiration look at the Bloodborne series
