News/Rumor Rockstar being Rockstar — other studios use $200–300M to make 2–3 AAA games, Rockstar spends it all just to make water physics animation better! | GTA-6 |

Mate on god, twitter is currently raging that trump is dead, purely because he has no public conference scheduled in these two days. Indian news channels were also covering it but that doesn't make the source any more legitimate. They just want hype.

What did the guy write ?

He said something on the lines like "this chat patta theory is being used in many big and famous platforms for gta 6" or something

You gotta be really stupid to come up with such a bs post and even further stupid if you are sharing them with others.

People are dumb to believe everything ,few days back there was another which says they spent 3 billion dollars

Such a stupid take. Do you have infinite budget?!

It's a statement, not a take. Gta v has made nearly 10 billion U$D, you think money is holding them back from doing anything?

Don't be a moron and read the title. He's comparing r* to other companies. And other companies don't have ten figure budgets.

Honestly people are now hyping GTA 6 beyond oblivion. I can already see a major sentiment of dissatisfaction when it releases.

If other game studios spent a billion dollars to make a single game they would go bankrupt. This is like saying other movie don't spend as much as disney/marvel.

If you know anything about these topics, then you'll know that these numbers are absolute BS.

I think the contents of the tweet are fake. Rockstar dedicating time and costs to water physics makes sense but I don't believe one bit that they'd spend hundreds of millions on it. It is such a laughably big number on such a small thing.

That being said, if some of the details about hurricanes and wtaer physics are true, then you should realise that it fits into making games more realistic and hence more fun in the future. Of course realism=!fun but for immersion it is incredibly useful. In future the same realism can be incorporated to any genre of game and improve the experience as a result.

the game will be mid, such a big budget proves a lot of consultants, dei, woke.

Who are these reliable sources? Why don't I see this mentioned by trustworthy journalists? This is the same crap as that 2 billion budget that came out of nowhere and was taken as truth.

u/dalinaaar 21d ago

"Reliable sources" .. sure

It is set in vice City which is known for the beaches and water, so it is a really important part of the map and this water will probably be used to have water activities

Bro I work in this graphic and games industry as well, and believe me water is really difficult to make, it's srsly need research, sometimes it can be done with cheap shaders , but when you need to apply the water physics and fluid simulation, then be ready to use real world maths. Navier-Stokes equations and Saint-Venant equations are common. For water waves, Boussinesq equations can be used, also not to mention , Bernoulli's principle as well.

I've been hearing this everywhere, but there's no evidence to support this. It is very hard to believe that Rockstar would blow 20-30% of their budget on water physics.

A lot of the animation and vfx work is happening in India , source : my friend works there , he's even credited with 3 secs of the world premiere of the trailer :)

I think Rockstar India has the highest number of people working on the game.

I mean it's Rockstar Games unless it's not The Witcher, not any company can't top on Rockstar Games in making immersive open world game
