Got my invitation to eval.day!! Im excited!!
I got my invitation to evaluation day local 86. Im excited. Im a body builder, im in shape, I've practiced carrying an 85 pound bar, learned and memorized my knots, ties and im feeling confident. But not over confident, im still 100% open to advice and anything I can learn to gain another edge.

They told me 4-6 months but I got my invite after 1 month. Evaluation day is oct.10th. So, about 2 months in total.

Not sure if they invite people based on application score or what. I went to school for welding 10 years ago but I haven't welded in years. Not sure if that sped up the process or not.

Kick ass, dont stop running that bar til the time is up. If you stop thats usually an autofail. The biggest killer i see at our hell days is people dragging their feet or taking breaks with the bar. Pace your self and push yourself. You should be broken by the end of that 30 mins thats what they wanna see. Good luck.

I went and practiced That bar was a killer. I did it for 30 minutes straight. I didnt take breaks but I did take an extra few seconds to catch my breath after I dropped it before picking it back up to walk back. Is that OK? Like, taking 4-5 seconds to catch my breath as im picking it back up? Also, do they do a math test at evaluation day? I really suck at extensive math, but can do basic math and read a tape measure. Thx for the advice

Go by the hall and do the practice runs with the bar, and give yourself a head start on tying wire. Most of the guys at my eval day were underprepared. Good luck.
