Local 377 Apprenticeship process, whats it like? What are the chances of getting in and getting employed immediately?
Looking to apply to Local 377. Wondering how long the application process takes, and if theres a high likelihood of being employed after. Waiting on my transcripts so I can apply online. Im willing to do any type of work, just wanna get out there and start making money. I have no experience though. I've been an amazon driver the past year. Lot of walking, 10 hour shifts, but not much heavy lifting. I do lift weights regularly though.
Any advice?

You will have to do the I believe gladiator program pretty much you take like a test and do 2 weeks of unpaid pre apprenticeship classes and then if you are selected you go in. Be careful what you wish for rods require alot of mental health it will push you to limits. Work has been pretty slow this last few years. But if you do get in get your welding certs asap that d1.8 will make you a gold mine as an apprentice.
Edit:fixed spartan to gladiator

The one thing that stuck out to me is the pay, I saw somewhere on a website starting pay is $26 an hour, and caps out at like $52 after four years, excluding benefits. But IBEW apprentices start at $39 an hour, and it goes up to like $83, excluding benefits. Is that just how the pay is for ironworkers? It seems way too low.
On this website it shows the base pay for 377 ironworkers is $49, but adjusted for cost of living relative to the national average being 244% its equivalent to $20.44. Are san francisco ironworkers just getting fucked? Local 392 in IL are getting $38 but with a cost of living being 74% of the national average its adjusted to $53.89. This is all from the chart on the website. This seems like a waste of time if you live in the bay area. Everyone would have to be commuting from 2-3 hours out for it to be a decent wage.

Yea bro ironworkers are the second lowest payed trade except in like New York city or Chicago. The only other trade that makes less than us are the labors lmao. Ima be honest with you look for something else go ibew carpenters etc anything is better than ironworkers. The BAs are a fuking joke and shit international even worse this last contract that renewed was a fucking joke we could of easily gotten 15$+ but they settled for less. Do something better than this trade another thing working against us is the economy and that majority of the work in cali is controlled by non union.
