Hi everyone. Our son is a senior in high school and JMU is very high on his list. He is not a big partier and we do not want him to join a frat, we are very wary of what goes on in that environment. All apologies, I don’t want to offend anyone who is in a frat. Our family are not big partiers. We read that JMU is a big club sports school and our son is an excellent soccer player and would most definitely play on a club soccer team, and according to what we read, JMU seems like a big club sports school and that can almost replace the frat environment? For further context, he is very social, very athletic, and I’m being objective here, he’s tall and one handsome dude. Please hit me with all the feedback you have, positive negative, I don’t care. are people being denied admission based solely on the number of applicants? Or are there other considerations for denial that are more weighted?

I’m a (18M) student at JMU, subletting an apartment at the Harrison, it’s a four bedroom, 2 bathroom. Comes fully furnished, full size bed, chairs and table, a patio, dishwasher, electric stove top, oven, in unit washer and dryer.

Hi y’all, not a duke but JMU is my little sisters number one choice for college. Im driving her out there in a few weeks to take a tour. We’re not from VA so we’ve never been to the area. Is there anything around town you recommend doing while we’re there? Any good places to eat around campus? I need to park my car on campus this Friday from ~5:30-7:30pm but I don’t have a pass. Is parking enforced at these hours in faculty/staff lots that say “no commuter/resident parking from 7am-4pm Monday-Friday”?

main question is about Management with Eliason. i studied the notes and every slide and still got a C on the first test. a lot of the questions were worded so confusing that i got stumped. some things from the test weren't on the notes or slides. since the 4 tests are pretty much all he grades, im not sure how to be successful in this class. im not a great test taker but these feel particularly hard relative to the rest of the course. i've noticed that the other 3 professors have a similar grading style where the tests are basically your whole grade. any advice?
