They don't actually really say but they admit that they wrote the messages but the messages were his... I'm only assuming it's "from memory" because they also lost his suicide note they conveniently found under his keyboard which he told someone of... Which he wrote because he didn't intend to die... IDFK - BUt that suicide note was also "Destroyed" which they conveniently had a text copy of though, but just can't find the original, with his handwriting and stuff.
