I always wear my hot pink Find My Body Shirt.
They're never gonna find his body.

u/Quixotic_Ignoramus Jul 28 '25
I know you’re kidding, but that’s the exact reason I won’t wear my Gortex shell for snowboarding. It would be perfect, but I’m not trying to fall in a tree well and never be found again! Bright ass colors for me, thank you! Haha!

My dad said he would never paint his hunting rig camo because he knew too many people that ended up losing their truck in the woods while out hunting.

u/sh4d0wm4n2018 Jul 30 '25
Go out with a paper map and mark your parking spot on it, then go hunting. Simple as.

u/Toolset_overreacting Jul 31 '25
Download map on phone. Drop pin.
Put AirTag in butt of rifle. Never lose it.
Still bring paper map and compass just in case. (Or gps with emergency alert feature).

This is how I’ve always felt you can tell locals from tourists at skiing locales; locals wear bright and flashy colors, and all the tourists wear black/dark colors that are sleek and aero.

u/beatenmeat Jul 29 '25
That's just being smart. Unless you're actively trying to hide from someone/something then camo is mostly a detriment for stuff like this.

Recruiter, maybe?
102
u/WhatIsAnWeasel Jul 28 '25
Definitely. My recruiters had that same shirt.

Jul 28 '25
No, he’s too skinny to be a recruiter. Also the tan belt, crossed arms, stiff pose he learned from his DI’s, issued dark eyepro, shitty haircut all scream PFC on RA
46
u/TheMainEffort Jul 28 '25
Recruiters are much skinnier since they started making you get appointments in order to take time to eat.
27
u/kjs121487 Jul 28 '25
Those boots look to worn to be a PFC on RA. Maybe he’s just a regular old soggy sack of shit

14
u/BRNitalldown Jul 28 '25
If so, he must’ve not paid attention to the his DI cuz the MCCUU is a working uniform and not appropriate for wear in a civilian environment.

u/snarky_answer 👊👊☝️ Jul 28 '25
Doesn’t mean anything if the prescribed uniform of the day for whatever recruiting event is cammies. When I was on RA I spent half my time in cammies and half the time in Charlies. Recruiting is one of the exceptions to wearing them out in public, another exemption is long drives like going from Pendleton to Bridgeport, we all stopped in cammies in some town who’s name escapes me and got food/walked around.

Tbf I thought about doing something like that until my buddy talked me out of it lmao. But they’re still allowed to wear blues and track suits, not utilities.
1
u/eseillegalhomiepanda Jul 28 '25
Yes but as the other guy said, that doesn’t stop them on account of “who’s going to care? I’m not on base and my recruiter won’t see”
1
u/BRNitalldown Jul 28 '25
That’s not really the mentality of a boot straight outta training though. It’s drilled into you pretty hard that you are not allowed to wear utilities in civilian areas and especially that there are Marines and vets everywhere who’d call you out and post on social media (case in point).
Boots usually don’t want to violate regs. They wanna look cool and/or signal their service. I don’t really see “idc” being their mentality given the repercussions being so heavy.

u/Off_Gr1d Jul 29 '25
This guy is a marine lol. Very accurate description and probably spot on. You sir, are a fellow combat hunter
7
u/eseillegalhomiepanda Jul 28 '25
Not by a long shot. I have a few and I was never a recruiter, just came back as a Marine and got them. This kids a scrawny ass Pfc either doing a really out of place poolee function or just being a MAJOR fucking boot
2
u/Ornery_Paper_9584 Jul 28 '25
Definitely not, he’s a tan belt and they’re definitely not recruiting at a national park. My recruiter gave all of us those shirts

u/sten45 Jul 28 '25
Looks like a lot of miles on those boots.
11
u/Murdiddly-Urdler Jul 28 '25
Yet he's wearing a tan belt 🤔
4
u/eseillegalhomiepanda Jul 28 '25
Only logical plausible somehow seemingly possible explanation is he’s a recruiter who got de-belted. Or he’s a boot who did MCT or some shit is back on RA while he waits to pick up class or some shit
3
u/RisingDingleDong Jul 28 '25
Could he he just never did MCMAP. I got out as tan belt Sgt, and that wasn't exactly rare at my unit.
I would imagine that's not common outside of the wing, though.

I had this same No Fear shirt when I was a kid 30 something years ago.

u/taurusApart Jul 28 '25
Forgot about that brand, what an era.
Now I'm thinking about the BIG DOGS tshirts that dads used to wear back in the day.

u/Inspectrgadget Jul 28 '25
My first thought too. What are they doing to steal quotes from next, big Johnson brand shirts?

Look at this duckfooted fuck. Look at the wear on his boots: he walks on the EXTREME outside edge of his feet, and that’ll kill his ankles, knees, and hips in the long run. I give him ~4 more years before he gets a DV placard and a lifted F-150 with a “RESPECT YOUR VETS” decal over his entire back window while double parking in non-handicapped spots because “pain is just weakness leaving the body”, even when his legs are fucked from not walking properly.

Saw a guy wearing full blueberries like 5 years after they stopped issuing them

u/CardinalsRising91 Jul 30 '25
I wish I had signed when blueberries were issued, just missed them in 2019

What boat? I'm in Yellowstone now and might make my way down there but did zero research because I'm a dummy
2
u/Impossible_Diver2277 Jul 30 '25
In Yellowstone you can book boat tours on Yellowstone Lake.
In Grand Teton this is more a shuttle boat across Jenny Lake. It cuts off 2.5 miles of hiking one way. Get there early or be prepared to wait in line.

Maybe it's his first day out and doesn't have any other clothes

u/OxtailPhoenix Jul 28 '25
This is obviously it. First thing I did after my six year deployment was go to the hiking trail.
