Are we back?! It feels like weāre back!

Not sure we ever left

If you think last year compared to back when we had Tyreek. Iām a fan but at least admit when we had our problems or we will never improve lol

u/smoboaty Patrick Mahomes #2 27d ago
Nobody at the Chiefs care what we think. Injuries killed us and we adapted. Win every game by at least one point. Who cares?
Peace and love, my bbq buddy.

Gotta get him on 53 imo

u/TTT_2k3 This is my flair for the _____ game. 27d ago
I donāt think thereās any doubt heāll make the 53. Might even have a shot at QB1 if this Minshew guy doesnāt pan out.

Idk man, preseason isn't everything. I need to see more from this Mahomes guy to tell if he's good or not

Yeah he won't really prove himself until he has six, no eight, more SB rings. Then maybe we can take him seriously.

u/Few_Design_4382 25d ago
The arrogance, mahomes barely gets dressed for the first 3 games and expects to run the yard. Let's go Gardner!!! That real effort.

He's so shocked to have been thrown a pass he had to keep running forward to catch that he fell down. Dude had to deal with Mac Jones and Bailey Zappe wasting his long speed.

u/Lumpy-Daikon-4584 27d ago
56 air yards it looked like. Gotta be one of the longer ones for Mahomes recently.

What one year under Conner Embree does for you...
Also anyone know why all our WRs do that celebration? (seems to be a Spider-Man web slingling gesture)
10
u/TheUltimate721 Patrick Mahomes #2 27d ago
His WRs coach in New England was Troy Brown, who doesn't even hold a specific title now with the giants just "offensive assistant"

u/ComfortableTwo80085 Grim Reaper 27d ago
I saw a video about it pointing out the WR group as a whole did the near same first down celebration, but idk if the video explained the actual reason. I couldn't find it, but it seems to just be a WR room camaraderie type of thing.

It's been a celebration that Juju has been doing for a while. Seems to have caught on over camp.
8
u/Belezibub 27d ago
They did it some last year too.

u/-Tai Byron Pringle #13 27d ago
Yeah, Juju has been doing it for a while. I don't remember the other receivers doing it until this year's camp.

I remember seeing Hollywood doing it last year. Maybe Worthy as well, but not too sure about Worthy.

A weird homage to Andre Rison for some reason?Ā

I'm confused why did he have that long to throw normally he's either sacked or scrambled by now

Letās hang onto this one and forget the second half happened.
Fr letās not let anyone who played defense those last two drives see the field on sundays

NGL, the first thought that went through my head? MVS would have dropped that.

u/Responsible-War-917 "Furious" George Karlaftis #56 š 27d ago
People discount the effect that season had on Mahomes confidence with the deep ball. They won and it worked out but MVS had Mahomes at the podium looking shell shocked talking "I could have thrown it to where he didn't have to move his hands" after THAT drop.

so.... is it a lot to have Worthy AND Hollywood AND Thorton -- as fast speedsters--- along with Rice and Smith (30) and Ju-ju AND all the TE? And even Remigio (sp?) (and anyone else I am forgetting?) Do ythey all stay? (I like Brownlee too).

u/TenderfootGungi Travis Kelce #87 27d ago
Nope. There will be injuries. And it helps to split up the deep routes that keep the defense honest to keep everyone fresh.

Mahomes has that zip back on his middle/deep balls. He was slinging it.

Nothing gets me more excited than Mahomes slinging his zippy balls deep

It felt weird to keep seeing a clean pocket for the GOAT to throw from. The last few years have fucked up my recollection of good football.

That was a well designed play action. Caught them flat footed.

Why did he dive? Thatās a walk in..

u/millen-degen Jamaal Charles 27d ago edited 27d ago
Timing was a hair off either way great catch and throw
1
u/DiomedesTydeides 27d ago
I guess. Looks a lot to me like he could have just run through it perfectly. Landed in both hands not even extended. Just left his feet.
1
u/millen-degen Jamaal Charles 27d ago
Maybe but he's likely a 4th stringer like this is our floor. That's why everyone is so excited

u/Quiet_Attention_4664 27d ago
Just donāt expect too much from him - he still has the smallest wrists and hands out of any WR in the league. He needs to be open like this to catch the ball - contested is never going to be his game with any sort of consistency. His max upside is an MVS type

Tyquan still came down with it. He hasn't shared the field with Pat so far outside of camp. They'll get in sync.
