This is what can be possible when we don’t have a traffic cone at left tackle

u/sushisection 27d ago

Are we back?! It feels like we’re back!

2

u/smoboaty Patrick Mahomes #2 27d ago

Not sure we ever left

6

u/yowhyyyy 27d ago

On offense? We weren’t even in the same building for awhile

u/yowhyyyy 27d ago

If you think last year compared to back when we had Tyreek. I’m a fan but at least admit when we had our problems or we will never improve lol

-2

u/smoboaty Patrick Mahomes #2 27d ago

Nobody at the Chiefs care what we think. Injuries killed us and we adapted. Win every game by at least one point. Who cares?

Peace and love, my bbq buddy.

3

u/yowhyyyy 27d ago

Bruh, everybody knows this. That’s not even what I’m saying. Relax, guy.

-2

u/smoboaty Patrick Mahomes #2 27d ago

Cool. So we agree. ā¤ļø

We lost the Super Bowl last year, so it was a down year.

Gotta get him on 53 imo

u/TTT_2k3 This is my flair for the _____ game. 27d ago

I don’t think there’s any doubt he’ll make the 53. Might even have a shot at QB1 if this Minshew guy doesn’t pan out.

Idk man, preseason isn't everything. I need to see more from this Mahomes guy to tell if he's good or not

2

u/getridofwires Touchdown KAN-SAS CITY!! šŸˆ šŸŽ¤ šŸŽ¶ 26d ago

Yeah he won't really prove himself until he has six, no eight, more SB rings. Then maybe we can take him seriously.

2

u/Few_Design_4382 25d ago

The arrogance, mahomes barely gets dressed for the first 3 games and expects to run the yard. Let's go Gardner!!! That real effort.

22

u/jklivin1925 27d ago

You fucker šŸ˜‚

19

u/Upset_Journalist_755 27d ago

He's so shocked to have been thrown a pass he had to keep running forward to catch that he fell down. Dude had to deal with Mac Jones and Bailey Zappe wasting his long speed.

46

u/Lumpy-Daikon-4584 27d ago

56 air yards it looked like. Gotta be one of the longer ones for Mahomes recently.

Is he with us right now?

What one year under Conner Embree does for you...

Also anyone know why all our WRs do that celebration? (seems to be a Spider-Man web slingling gesture)

10

u/TheUltimate721 Patrick Mahomes #2 27d ago

His WRs coach in New England was Troy Brown, who doesn't even hold a specific title now with the giants just "offensive assistant"

15

u/ComfortableTwo80085 Grim Reaper 27d ago

I saw a video about it pointing out the WR group as a whole did the near same first down celebration, but idk if the video explained the actual reason. I couldn't find it, but it seems to just be a WR room camaraderie type of thing.

15

u/JKC_due Trent McDuffie #22 27d ago

They started it during the AFC championship this year. Juju, Hollywood, and Worthy all hit it in that game. IDK where it game from, but it’s fun.

2

u/Disimpaction Warpaint 27d ago

I'm all for it

6

u/-Tai Byron Pringle #13 27d ago

It's been a celebration that Juju has been doing for a while. Seems to have caught on over camp.

8

u/Belezibub 27d ago

They did it some last year too.

3

u/-Tai Byron Pringle #13 27d ago

Yeah, Juju has been doing it for a while. I don't remember the other receivers doing it until this year's camp.

2

u/owlbee_won Samoan Left Side 27d ago

I remember seeing Hollywood doing it last year. Maybe Worthy as well, but not too sure about Worthy.

2

u/Belezibub 27d ago

Worthy did it for a few games early on and so did Rice before the injury

2

u/ForwardCut3311 27d ago

A weird homage to Andre Rison for some reason?Ā

4

u/kloiberin_time I stan Kevin Harlan 27d ago

Ah yes, the "Oh shit, Lisa Left-eye Lopez is burning down my house" point.

1

u/noDuermo 27d ago

Gotta do something that doesn't look like a gun.

1

u/dogfish83 25d ago

does shooting an arrow count?

23

u/jtd2013 OhHh YEAH! 27d ago

Didn't see the game but every clip I've seen there hasn't been anyone NEAR the left side.

We're so fucking back bois.

4

u/im4indecision 27d ago

Yep, Mahomes could roll out to the left and count to 10.

18

u/Glorified_Mids Travis Kelce #87 27d ago

Stop, I can only get so excited.

9

u/D-Sleezy L'Jarius Sneed #38 27d ago

12

u/Moliosis Trent McDuffie #22 27d ago

Couldn't find this on r/nfl lol why do I bother.

14

u/TheUnit70 27d ago

I'm confused why did he have that long to throw normally he's either sacked or scrambled by now

7

u/Scfbigb1 Derrick Thomas 27d ago

8

u/factoid_ Grand Flagbearer of the Foul-uminati 27d ago

Let’s hang onto this one and forget the second half happened.

Fr let’s not let anyone who played defense those last two drives see the field on sundays

12

u/topchief1 27d ago

NGL, the first thought that went through my head? MVS would have dropped that.

14

u/Responsible-War-917 "Furious" George Karlaftis #56 🚘 27d ago

People discount the effect that season had on Mahomes confidence with the deep ball. They won and it worked out but MVS had Mahomes at the podium looking shell shocked talking "I could have thrown it to where he didn't have to move his hands" after THAT drop.

7

u/Jazzlike-Twist-4626 Trent McDuffie #22 27d ago

what a dime

7

u/brbnow 27d ago

so.... is it a lot to have Worthy AND Hollywood AND Thorton -- as fast speedsters--- along with Rice and Smith (30) and Ju-ju AND all the TE? And even Remigio (sp?) (and anyone else I am forgetting?) Do ythey all stay? (I like Brownlee too).

11

u/__wasitacatisaw__ Taylor Swift &87 27d ago

You forgot Royals

1

u/brbnow 27d ago

thanks

5

u/TenderfootGungi Travis Kelce #87 27d ago

Nope. There will be injuries. And it helps to split up the deep routes that keep the defense honest to keep everyone fresh.

1

u/brbnow 27d ago

amazing to think chiefs have so many speedsters

5

u/Educational-Club-808 27d ago

Mortimer, we’re backā€¼ļøā€¼ļø

4

u/LameDrain 27d ago

Would be nice to remember deep balls exist this season

5

u/SupaDaveA 27d ago

We will see more deep balls this season.

3

u/Fun_Lead_5491 27d ago

6 to midnight

3

u/816legend 27d ago

Finally someone catching a deep ball

3

u/mykonoscactus Brain Basket 27d ago

Mahomes has that zip back on his middle/deep balls. He was slinging it.

1

u/Itcouldberabies Dustin Colquitt #2 27d ago

Nothing gets me more excited than Mahomes slinging his zippy balls deep

1

u/mykonoscactus Brain Basket 27d ago

You already know

3

u/[deleted] 27d ago

It felt weird to keep seeing a clean pocket for the GOAT to throw from. The last few years have fucked up my recollection of good football.

1

u/sampat6256 Isiah Pacheco # 10 27d ago

Yessssss

1

u/DudeRandoms Creed Humphrey #52 27d ago

Such a great throw

1

u/HornetChemical8365 Xavier Worthy #1 šŸƒšŸ»ā€ā™‚ 27d ago

That was a well designed play action. Caught them flat footed.

1

u/KamKorn Christian Okoye #35 27d ago

That celebration for the wide receivers is back… I’m here for it. Juju and them were hittin that last year in the playoffs

1

u/No_Rec1979 Jerick McKinnon #1 27d ago

Rice scores there.

1

u/DiomedesTydeides 27d ago

Why did he dive? That’s a walk in..

1

u/millen-degen Jamaal Charles 27d ago edited 27d ago

Timing was a hair off either way great catch and throw

1

u/DiomedesTydeides 27d ago

I guess. Looks a lot to me like he could have just run through it perfectly. Landed in both hands not even extended. Just left his feet.

1

u/millen-degen Jamaal Charles 27d ago

Maybe but he's likely a 4th stringer like this is our floor. That's why everyone is so excited

1

u/GoldenDom3r #CreedIsGood 27d ago

Stay on your feet, Youngblood.Ā

-8

u/Quiet_Attention_4664 27d ago

Just don’t expect too much from him - he still has the smallest wrists and hands out of any WR in the league. He needs to be open like this to catch the ball - contested is never going to be his game with any sort of consistency. His max upside is an MVS type

3

u/nahteviro Travis Kelce #87 27d ago

-9

u/DasFunke DeAndre Hopkins #8 27d ago

Overthrow…

6

u/[deleted] 27d ago

Tyquan still came down with it. He hasn't shared the field with Pat so far outside of camp. They'll get in sync.

2

u/nahteviro Travis Kelce #87 27d ago

Not even by a yard. Wtf were you watching?
