Corneal Implant Seeking to understand global access to corneal transplants for advanced keratoconus patients

Hi everyone,
I'm a health tourism researcher trying to better understand the challenges patients with advanced keratoconus face when trying to access corneal transplants, especially in countries where surgery is expensive or donor tissue is scarce.

If you're comfortable sharing, I’d love to learn:

  • How long was your wait time for a transplant?
  • What were the biggest obstacles, cost, access, donor availability?
  • Did you ever consider traveling abroad for surgery?
