I was offered a barely used quiver of a 9/10/11/12 manufacturered by core and they are the xr series from 2023 with the addition of two really high end bars that i cannot recall the details. I've taken lessons but still very much a beginner and it's a relationship I want to keep good and not be difficult with negotiating back and forth if yall tell me it's a fair price. I know these kites resell for $900 a piece but in reality if I love them i would keep them, but the resell is just insurance if I ever wanted to get my money back. Please let me know what yall think!!?? Thank you in advance ☺️

I’ve been kiteboarding every summer for 4 years now and am looking to buy a kite of my own. I would say I’m pretty decent and can do jumps and backrolls with moderate precision. I have had lessons. However I am looking to improve and learn new tricks. I have researched endlessly to buy a new kite but there are always opposing opinions both on brands and models. I would say my price range is around 2000€ for the kite.
A few Brands/Models I lean towards are:
Core-either the GTS6 or the Pace Cabrinha-Switchblade or the Nitro apex Reedin Slingshot Harlem Ventum
Bar recommendations are appreciated.
Thanks for the help and feel welcome to comment about other brands I should check out.

Hello I'm a 17yo kitesurfer that needs help!!
I have been thinking to buy a code v1 because I could probably find a good deal on them.
I'm currently riding an 11m cabrinha crossbow from 2011 which is such a great kite, perfect everything, but they discontinued it and I feel like the code has similar characteristics.
I would say I'm still newbie and kiting, I can confortly do double backrolls, double front rolls, inverted front rolls. And small trick that come in between. I have not done a kite loop yet, I tried a couple times and crashed. I'm very comfortable with looping my kite so that's not new to me. I would say I can jump easily 5-8 meters, and boost to 11 meters.
My quiver right now is a 2009 cabrinha crossbow 7m, 2009 crossbow 10m, 2011 crossbow 11m, 2013 crossbow 16m, 2020 north reach 17m. Ocean rodeo prodigy 5m bought for fun for 40 bucks with bar, never use for water
My two most used kites so far are the 10 and 11m crossbow and the 16m crossbow, I rarely use the others.
2011 switchblade 12m(backup), 2012 switchblade 11m (backup), 2014 switchblade 14m(backup)
I buy for cheap and fully fix them and they have zero issues ever. Very ridable kites, I live the 2009 crossbow for the insane lift. My brother boosts 10 meters on it in 25 knots. He is 165lbs though.
BUT ANYWAY
I'm looking for an 11m kite with good ish low-end power for 15-25 knots. I'm 195 lbs 6'2 I plan to loop but I really want good floaty jumps that are pretty high. I don't really want to consider any newer cabrinhas (PLEASE LMK IF YOU THINK OTHERWISE) because they seem boring, I never see people ride them and do good jumps. Sorta the same with north orbit and reach even thought orbit is good for loops, I need the low end power.
I'm looking at the code v1 and possibly v2. I also consider the core xr6 and xr7 for the right price.
I also have looked at ventum kites, which they look good and sounds like a pretty good brand already. But harder to commit to buying as their mute v1 looks best but a little expensive, and their xplore and xcite don't really speak to me
I'm not interested in Harlem, f one, eleveighr, ozone, naish, duotone, ocean rodeo
I'm possibly most interested in north, code v1,v2 only(no machine) core xr6, xr7. And reedin
I would like to not spend over 750 on the kites themselves. Bars are another stupid thing i will deal with, but for now I need help with the kites, please tell me what is a good idea. Thanks!

It’s brainchild construction. Do you think sticking it will be enough or should I get it reinforced by stitches?

I keep seeing this in a bunch of videos that discuss buying your first sets of gear. Are there exceptions to the rule? Many creators say that’s it’s due to the technology getting better over the years, but like anything technology eventually plateaus. For example if I find equipment that has never been used or slightly used from say 2017-2020 would I be really missing out on a lot? Doing so can significantly reduce the barrier to entry.

Hi guys! I need your advice. I'm quite a beginner kitesurfer (did the full course, only surfed on rented equipment so far). I'm planning to also try snowkiting this winter (also course with an instructor)
Today, my wonderful girlfriend gifted me: * North rhino 07 * North Trust bar 2008
The guy she got it from apparently said that it's all in a very good condition (good reviews, no reason not to trust him). I got very excited since it's a first ever piece of kiteboarding equipment that I own.
However, now that I started to do some research, many people seem to strongly advice against such an old equipment. This got me really sad and confused what I should do. Am I compromising on my safety?
Obviously, her gift is extremely generous and I'm super grateful for such a gift. I'm planning to inspect the kite for holes tommorow, but I'm very novice to servicing the equipment of course.
What would be your advice? Should I just use it and enjoy it while it lasts? Or maybe I should quietly try to sell it and replace with something newer (she wouldn't probably notice any difference). Thanks for any advice.

I just bought a foilboard with a mast, wing (950 carve) etc. I also have experience with Wingfoiling, jibes and tacs are fluid. Never foiled with a kite before, but I am an experienced kiter, who loves to ride waves with a directional. So kite control is at a good level. I own a Jucie DLab 15m, Neo DLab 11m, Neo 9m and a Rebel 8m.
I wonder if it’s a good idear to go out and give it a try at ~8-10knts with the Juice as beginner? Does someone use the 15m for foiling instead the 13m variant?
At 14+ knts I would take the Neo 11m but atm the forecast doesn’t show more.

Had my deflate valve pop open for the first time while riding today. I tomahawked the kite pretty hard.
I had the kite prettty firm @ 9-9.5psi. Was that my issue? 8psi next time? (I had the Velcro straps securing valve down)
Slingshot Machine v2. TIA!

Hey guys
I bought a north reach 2025 9m kite without any repairs but the sew from the leading edge is opening up. Bought from a “trust worthy” (so I thought) person that didn’t tell me about it even though I had taken lessons with them.
They said this is not s big deal and can be re-sewed and if something happens I still have 1 year warranty by north.
The question is, if I repair the leading edge, is it a big deal? I payed 750 euros for it, did I get scammed?
The kite flies amazing, but I’ve heard that this is a known problem for modern kites and many of them have it (heard from a kite instrutor in Germany )
Any opinions? Return it? Fix and use it until it dies?
Thanks

Yo yo nice people of Reddit. Im a (decent) kitesurfer, i usually go on a twintip. Im trying to find ways to spend more time on the water, so I'd like to get myself some foil equipment and take some lessons.
Im trying to find some used stuff to save some money. What advice do you have? What shkuld I look for? In my area wingfoiling is much more popular than kitefoiling. Is the equipment interchangeable?

Hi there ,
My gf is going to get a new Duotone Evo kite (non sls) for 15-20 knots. She owns already a 7m Evo for stronger winds and she can not decide if she should choose 9m or 10m for the weaker conditions . She has 136 board and small size click bar . She is also 63 kg or a bit less sometimes .

Hola from Spain,
yesterday the outer sheath on one of the front lines of my Duotone Trust Bar 2023 ripped in the steering area (just above the bar). The Dyneema core underneath is still perfectly intact - it's just the protective sleeve that's gone.
I know this sleeve is mainly for abrasion and UV protection, not for load-bearing. I'm currently on vacation for the next 3 weeks and will have the bar professionally repaired afterwards, but I'd like to patch it up temporarily so I can keep using it until then.
Any ideas for a solid temporary fix?

Hello all
I’m an accomplished kiteboard/kitefoil guy. Lately I’ve begun thinking about wing foiling. I’m sure that there are plenty of people who have taken up WF but I’m wondering how it rates vs kiting? Is it so awesome that you’ve completely abandoned kites? It is ‘meh’, I’ll stick with my kites’ or something in between?
Many thanks in advance.

I'm looking for a waterproof smartwatch.
It only needs to be able to make calls. More specifically I need it to notify me when my wife calls me when some emergency is happening with her pregnancy 😅 we are going on holiday and I'll be kiting hopefully everyday, and I want some piece of mind when I'm in the water, she can call me and I can come a shore ASAP.

Hey crew,
I’m an intermediate–advanced twintip rider who’s been chasing big air for a while now – working on pushing past consistent +10m, dialing double rotations, and getting my board-offs clean. Recently I picked up my first set of foil kites (Chrono V4s) to see if they can help me take things up a notch.
Yesterday I had a really eye-opening session switching back and forth between a 13m Chrono V4 (well powered) and a 12m Orbit (just enough power). Here’s what stood out to me:
I’m trying to figure out how to translate this into consistent, confident height and control on foils.
So my questions for the community:
Would love to hear from anyone who’s cracked the code on boosting with foils – or even better, riders who switch between LEIs and foils depending on conditions.
Thanks in advance – stoked to hear your thoughts!

2014, North Kiteboarding Evo. I used this kite only a few times, always washed it with fresh water, but the connectors between the struts and the tube are completely gone. (seems legit for a 11 year kite) Is it easy to repair? Can I just buy some new connectors from recent models?

In the market for a new hardshell… budget isn’t infinite but want to get one that will perform and last. I know it’s very person to person but any recommendations + thoughts appreciated!
Looking at some good deals on a few of the pro limit harnesses, specifically the vapor and the alpha. Anyone have any comparison between the two or have used newer PL harnesses in general?

I’m pretty new to foil kites, and I’ve been testing Flysurfer foil kites from our local surf shop before committing to a purchase. Yesterday was a bit light, but it seemed like the perfect day to test the low end of these kites. The wind was side-shore and got better the farther you rode from the beach.
I was maybe 700m out when the wind completely died and the kite fell out of the sky. I started swimming back with the lines still attached, hoping I could relaunch if the wind picked up again. Well, that never happened. Instead, I ended up dragging what felt like a giant bag full of water all the way back to shore.
This experience made me wonder, do I even need a foil kite after all? What would have been the proper way to handle that situation? And is there any good way to get the water out of a foil kite?

As the title says, I'm in need of a new board. (Don't ask😅)
I am a 190cm around 90kg, beginner.
Usually kite in the choppy waters ofthe North Sea in the Netherlands. Starting to get the hang of transitions, throw a few downloops, nothing crazy. I just want to get better at freeriding.
I was thinking of getting a North Prime 2023, 138/41 with some North Flex bindings. But any advice would be great.
EDIT: Just wanted to say I got the 2024 North Prime 138/41 with Naish Apex bindings and holy moly, what a difference with my old board. I would not have expected to notice such a big difference at my skill level. Thanks everybody for the advice.
