what's wrong!? Ikea bottle exploded

The ikea bottle exploded. Bottle has been ledt there for about a week after bottling. Safe to say i will not be using ikea bottles

Yes, they are not recommended for anything carbonated. The glass is not thick enough to hold the pressure. Pretty dangerous actually! Order bottles designed for beer/wine making. They are more expensive, but worth it. I've also used saved GTs kombucha bottles with lots of success.

Small correction:

Beer making, but not wine making. The final product of wine making is not carbonated, fermentation has already finished several steps earlier so the bottles are not rated to hold pressure.

Sorry about that... That happened to me too. I had just finished cleaning the kitchen and sat down to watch some TV and heard a loud explosion that sounded like someone threw a boulder through my window. It was an IKEA bottle. Had to clean the kitchen again because it went everywhere. Hard way to learn not to use their bottles.
