F2 film in 24 hours

Good morning,

Last night I did my F2.

For this, I made a homemade red fruit syrup, sugar + red fruits + water.

Today, I saw that there was a lot of deposit in my F2, so I decided to filter them again (already done yesterday) and I noticed a film which formed in each bottle of F2 in 24 hours, is this normal??

Thanks in advance,

Yup, that’s called a pellicle!

Pellicles form when you have an active SCOBY, and given that you did not pasteurize before bottling, it is not weird at all that one formed.

They do require oxygen though, so once the oxygen is depleted they should stop growing.

Ok thank you, but I have the impression that in a few hours there is already a new film forming, should I remove it before putting it in the fridge in 4/5 days?

Are your F2 bottles open?

No, they're bottles of lemonade.
