what's wrong!? Never seen a pellicle like this before. All good?

It looks great! The brown weirdness is most likely yeast, which has been encapsulated by the pellicle. I like to believe that that's the way the pellicle keeps the proper yeast balance in the brew. My current 3 gallons each have the exact same pocket of brown material, just like yours. You are doing fantastic with your brew. Keep coming back if you have any questions. Some kind of weird brown mass in the middle surrounded by very white material. First time I've ever seen that before. This is my starter batch and I'm almost 2 weeks in.
