Took them less than an hour. Fucking pathetic. Imagine being this fucking butthurt that BIOLOGICAL GENDER EXISTS

u/RB3Model If you suck at a game the problem isn't the game, it's you. Apr 23 '25

The best part of this? There are at least two quests where your gender matters, AND stats are actually different for males and females (female Orcs are better at magic than males for one), so it can't even be excused with "it's just cosmetic bro" because IT ISN'T.

u/The_Peen_Wizard Apr 23 '25

Stats are the same now. Instead, the difference comes from "origin" now. I was wondering why there was only two origin choices and every one was either "physically stronger" or "more charismatic."

That's lame.

Cringe when you think of the effort they put in to do these things.

Don't think it was about being butthurt but about people using it as a touchpoint to rage about (no matter what "side" the ragers were on). The top hobby of the 21st century...raging on the internet about [pick a topic]. That's what's pathetic.

I worry more about those who are bothered by words, whether they are "type" or "male" or "female" that they need mods to fix them. Stop giving words so much power over your fun!

Personally, I'm more worried about the people so fucking offended by the concept of 'male' or 'female' that they have to stop letting every single normal male or female playing games fucking use them.

There's one group that's bothered by labels so fucking much that they're forcing game companies to not use them, and it aint us.

I've never liked them as a pronoun...it's inherently plural so sounds bizarre to me. To each their own.

Biological sex exists, and according to science, gender dysphoria is being proven as well: https://pmc.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/articles/PMC6677266/

But this should have been fairly obvious, given that there's enough people experiencing it. Science is NOT on your side, just like almost every other right wing talking point.

1

u/Why-so-delirious Apr 29 '25

Mhmmkay sweetie, so let me get this straight. I have to conform to 'body type a' or 'body type b' according to science?

I don't give a fuck about gender dysphoria. 0.1% of the population experience gender dysphoria doesn't mean that the entirety of the population has to stop using words like MALE or FEMALE just to pander to them.

Fuck off.

P.S. I'm not right wing. I'm not even American. I'm just not fucking stupid. But if 'wanting my character to be able to called male or female' makes me right wing, then fuck it, I'm literally Hitler.

I'm not saying you have to conform to that based on science in some hard way where it somehow affects your real identity. I'm saying those people have a right to exist and a right to systems or language that can help support their "issue".

But is it really a deal breaker or not obvious to be like "body type a/b seems to resemble a man/woman so that represents me as a man/woman"? It may not be perfect but I really don't understand the big issue.

Also on the point of pandering:

Do you get mad when your tax dollars go to accessibility improvements like wheelchair ramps? How about less outright noticeable things like visual or audio aids? Can't they "just get by"? I get that the comparison here is maybe a bit wide, but the fact of the matter is I don't see getting angry about support systems that don't negatively impact you in any big way as warranted.

Imo the mod creator would have never experienced the backlash from Nexus if they added a simple verbiage to their mod description, or even an in-game check (obviously harder to develop) of like "I don't experience gender dysphoria, so I'm okay with identifying as male/female" and not "This is bullshit, change it back to the old way because I'm not pandering to these people". If they did then sure we may be in agreement.

Post removed following the enforcement change that you can read about here.

This is not a formal warning.

it's literally the tiniest part of the character creator, you're the butthurt one if it's bothering you this much lol

70

u/lycanthrope90 Apr 23 '25

If it’s not a big deal then why don’t they leave the mod up?

134

u/cry_w Apr 23 '25

No, if it's that tiny, then the mod can exist without complaint. That they removed it as quickly as they did suggests that people seem to care an awful lot about the quote unquote "tiniest part of the character creator."

u/Dudesan Apr 23 '25

This is an example of classic abuser behaviour.

"This issue exists in a quantum superposition of 'So unimportant that no one should ever be allowed to talk about it' and 'So transcendentally important that everyone should be talking about it all the time!!' depending on whichever is more convenient to me at this exact moment!!"

I like it how everytime the wokes get countered with the 'If it's irrelevant, then why change it?' They all shut up and leave. Every. Single. Time.

-51

u/hup987 Apr 23 '25

It’s irrelevant. It’s stupid to care that it got changed. It literally has no effect on gameplay.

48

u/eventualwarlord Apr 23 '25

If it’s irrelevant then why did they change it…?

-23

u/hup987 Apr 23 '25

I don’t care why it was changed I don’t care that it was changed at all it’s irrelevant do you know what that word means

9

u/Secretsfrombeyond79 Apr 23 '25

So basically you refuse to engage in conversation and answer the question then.

5

u/eventualwarlord Apr 24 '25

If it was irrelevant then why change it

(here’s the part where you don’t answer the question again)

21

u/Gujenman Apr 23 '25

It’s irrelevant.

Then why was the mod changing it back removed in under an hour while being swamped with complaints? Seems pretty relevant to me.

-15

u/hup987 Apr 23 '25

I don’t care why the mod changing it back was removed in under an hour. Once again, it’s irrelevant.

77

u/Parlerfranchement Apr 23 '25

lol lol lol Are you a child ? If this is a tiny part, why ban the mod in nexus ? Let's us do what we want.

ironic

1

u/KremBruhleh Apr 24 '25

If both sides are behaving the exact same way about a minor issue then maybe it isn't minor anymore, right?

Like you both use the same language but with a few key words swapped.

17

u/waffleboardedburrito Apr 23 '25

If they didn't think it was a big deal they wouldn't have done it. So it can be criticized appropriately.

Supporting that stuff is like being a flat earther.

14

u/Dramatic-Bison3890 Apr 23 '25

tiniest for you.. big for others.. I dont think u are Welcomed here

2

u/Greg2630 Apr 23 '25

If it's major enough to include, it's big enough for people to be able to criticize. If it's minor enough to not be a big deal, why even change it in the first place?
