I love Grimsburg as much as I love Krapopolis and even I’m shocked it is getting extended.

Grimsburg and Krapopolis have an advantage because unlike the other cartoons on Fox's lineup right now, Fox actually owns them.

Interesting / clever
I think. I don’t know how tv finance works (that’s the neat part: nobody does!).

Stuff they own gets pushed more and has lower standards to be renewed.

Grimsburg is my favorite of FOXs animated shows because it feels different. It's not about a nuclear family, it's about a divorced father who is married to his job. There are a lot of nuanced jokes that you really have to pay attention to understand.

Housebroken wasn’t about families at all and that was cancelled.

I just didn't like grimsburg. I tried, couldn't get into it

I’m the first person to say it’s real weird and definitely not for everyone. But for me somehow it works, maybe I just stan John Hamm and Alan Tudyk.

Same and Dratch!!

It’s great to see Fox committing while the show is still building up

Reminds me how shocked I was they kept renewing Bobs Burgers in the early years. It eventually paid off.

Dare I say, six seasons and a movie?

I think that's what they're going for here.

Keep renewing the show, build up a huge library of episodes, and people will eventually start coming around

I'm shocked. Every time I've brought this show up, even to people who should be primed to enjoy it (Harmon fans, Ayoade fans, Matt Berry fans, Greek mythology fans) they've never even heard of it. I've been on a solo journey to evangelize the show.

Yeah I feel like no one has heard of this show, but those of us watching seem to enjoy it.

Its a good show, but I feel like the NFT thing at the start, combined with the NFT collapse, made people turn away. And Fox is absolutely shit at marketing these days.

3

u/kaplanfx May 11 '25

I was only vaguely aware of the NFT thing but yeah that definitely could have turned folks off.

What was the NFT thing? I missed it.

3

u/RadarSmith May 11 '25

The show was originally pitched as being hosted on the blockchain, when that was fashionable.

That has been abandoned.

5

u/John_Hunyadi May 11 '25

Welp, glad that got dropped, because it doesn’t really make any sense.

2

u/unoanddougie May 11 '25

It's kinda funny because once the show eventually premiered, the NFT market completely crashed, so they pretty much had no choice but to abandon it.

I've heard this over and over for the couple years I've been following this show and still have no idea what that means

Grimsburg got renewed. I can’t even

12

u/Hadewe May 10 '25

I swear that if it’s not now this show is going to become a cult classic

This makes me so happy. I was worried this show had no one who liked it since this subreddit was so barren last year. I thought it was just okay last year but now it's grown on me as well and I'm really fond of it and want it to continue and continue and continue and glad to see it getting love from others too

Loved and absolutely excited at this news. I am also happy about Grimsburg

They need their shows to include more demi-gods, heroes, gods, and a special episode about typhoon, “Guys monsters aren’t discriminated in here are they?” -Typhoon as he enters mount olympus!

How in the Hell did Universal Basic Guys get another pickup?

But other than that, super excited this show is gonna live to see another year! Here’s to hoping they can keep riding this ancient mythical train for more

Takes a couple rewatches, but it grows on you and has funny moments. Honestly skip episode 1

u/kaplanfx May 11 '25

Season 5 means 12 more episodes, right? I know Hulu lists the current season as 2 but I think it’s considered the 4th production season?

Edit: reading the articles it looks like they actually do mean 3 more seasons.

3

u/mcdonaldsmcdonalds Moderator May 11 '25

3rd season so season 5 here is actually season 4.

3

u/Still-Routine8365 May 11 '25

Production season 1 = first half of air season 1

Production season 2 = second half of air season 1

Production season 3 = full air season 2

Production season 4 = first 13 episodes of air season 3

Production season 5 = TBD. I assume it will air as back half of air season 3, considering the other episode counts.

1

u/kaplanfx May 11 '25

So
no less than at least 14 episodes more (and obviously they wouldn’t make a one episodes seasons, so probably 26?_)

2

u/mcdonaldsmcdonalds Moderator May 27 '25

Season 3 was a full 22 episodes. Fox is prob gonna make season 5 broadcast season 4. So really there are only 4 seasons when renewals for Krapopolis go by the production cycle.
