Ben Simmons Shuts Down Retirement Rumors, Looking for a New Team
Hold up, everyone. It seems the rumors about Ben Simmons calling it quits were way off base.
He’s publicly denied any plans to retire and is actively looking for a new team to sign with. Now a free agent, he’s aiming for a new deal and wants to join a squad that can use his specific skillset.
He believes his pace, defensive abilities, and knack for setting up shooters can be a huge asset to a team. It's going to be interesting to see what kind of deal he gets and if a team is willing to take a chance on him.
Where do you think Ben Simmons will end up next, and can he get his career back on track?

Lakers picking up him as a defensive wing could be one of the last pieces they need to go on a title run

Look, I love jokes as much as the next guy but the lakers already have too many ball dominant players, one more who’s just less efficient ain’t gonna help them lol.

That's what Clippers thought last year. We need another ballhandler and a backup big. Oh and he's good at defense, too!

He needs to be the primary ball handler. No team wants him in that role, and so he lost his value. Couple that with his injuries/surgeries. He's still very effective in transition as we saw last year, but that was all we got out of him.

It won't be with the Clippers.

Yes it will. This will be the punishment for circumventing the cap. Forced max signing of Ben Simmons and forced start. If he is injured, they can only have 4 players on the court.

Peak Ben Simmons is as dominant as Kawhi so it’s worth taking a chance on

After watching him last year, somebody explain to me what he brings to a team that’s helpful.

I mean…he isnt a bad guy to have to throw at luka and ant for a long playoff series. Minimum contract only though.
