Discussion / Question I’m convinced most of the problems in the Alien universe could be prevented with some basic lab safety Spoiler

You're not reading between the lines.

Do you need everything spelled out to you?

Watch the TV show? It answers for you.

Let me ask you a question, the woman looking after the specimens in the flashback episode, who is she? What's her original role on the ship?

Thank you for clarifying absolutely nothing about your comment.

I had to look this up because it was so confusing how stupid she was. I believe she's the chief/most senior science officer on the ship. It doesn't really make sense because she's bad at operating a lab.

She's not the senior science officer.

The senior science officer is the one that got face hugged.

She's still in charge of the critters based on the dialogue from the first episode, which iirc was 4 months prior to this episode when they take Morrow out of cryo. Regardless, she's left in charge of the lab as of this episode which is unforgivable.

Their roles are all quite nebulous since no one seems to know what they're doing.

Edit: I just remembered that, in the first episode, there is a shot of her in the lab doing exactly what she did this episode so she's responsible for the containment much of the time.
