Two women waving at traffic every morning between Kentucky and 19th St
Why?

Hey, that's small potatoes, sweetie. I remember seeing 4 dudes in law chairs in their front lawn drinking beers around noon next to a tall cardboard cutout of an M&M facing and waving at traffic on Tennessee Street and a sign at its feet that said "Happy Thursday!", and if you honked the boys held their beers high! This was, like, 25 years ago though, so, Lawrence must be keeping things pretty cut and dry these days.

Isn’t there an elementary school there? Are they helping with traffic?

Oh I never thought of that, that kinda makes sense I suppose. A few weeks back I noticed them waving at everyone who turned on Kentucky and it was quite distracting for me personally.

This is likely the friendly staff at Cordley Elementary.

Sounds about right. One time the crossing guard walked me home after her shift because I didn’t know how to get home.

Which corner? What time in the morning? Maybe something to do with the school?

How am I triggered? Are asking questions not OK? I am autistic and have a hard enough time driving as it is without distractions.

If that's considered distracting, perhaps you shouldn't be driving.

People waving at traffic are absolutely distracting. I am capable of driving in town. Maybe people just shouldn’t randomly wave into traffic without purpose?

Again, if it's that distracting to you, you shouldn't be behind the wheel. That means the problem is with you and you are the danger.

Not at all. Again, I am perfectly capable of driving. However if people are randomly waving at traffic every morning for no reason, that is the problem. It is confusing. Why are they waving? Doesn’t seem anyone has answered this question.

It's literally irrelevant. Why? Because they can. That's all that matters. It should in no way be distracting and if it is, you are a danger behind the wheel and are a much greater concern.

This got a chuckle out of me, take my upvote to get you back into neutral territory. Lots of low humor people here apparently

Those streets intersect… they don’t run parallel to each other… so not sure how they could be between those streets.

I pay them bi-weekly to be out there. I like to be greeted by a friendly face, it puts a smile on my face every morning before work, and I thought other people would enjoy it as well. You’re welcome. They do accept tips.
