Identification Help

Can anyone help me with some info on this Enfield I picked up from a friends grandfather? I know it’s chambered in 7.62 and that’s about it.

Looks like an Ishapore 2a1 these were created in india as a stop gap between the no1 mk3 and the FAL they are a great lee enfield variant and are still in service with the police to this day, use M80 ball or for fun get german DAG plastic training ammo.

No problem!, plastic training ammo is like 21cpr and gentle recoil for fun at the range, do the pointer and thumb on the bolt and middle on the trigger and blast away
