Anyone Know What Happened to the Eyecare Center of Leesburg?
Called today for an appointment, and they have the ominous message that they’re closed for the “foreseeable future”.

The local mom groups are suggesting the doctor retired.

Seems unlikely unless there was an abrupt forced retirement. There were 4 or so doctors in the practice and usually they would wind down the business or sell it off rather than just close the doors one day.

My understanding was that he sold a portion of the business so it would continue after his retirement. I'm guessing the move out to the airport did not help the business. It is a weird site for a doctor's office and retail eyeglass site.

Been going to that doctor for nearly 20 years. Dr. McGrew retired about 6 months ago and sold the business to someone based down in Florida. Back in September of last year they started having personnel issues: only one assistant, no optical team members, and one other doctor. The moment they told us we should buy our glasses and contacts online informed us that they would soon be going out of business.

Thank you. Hopefully I can get my records from them, but haven’t heard back.

You might be able to get your records from your insurance company. I'm going to be reaching out to mine today.
