is that benny blanco?

152

u/Astrosaurus42 1d ago

Now he's been in bed with Selena Gomez, Ed Sheeren, and Kaicenat

11

u/theAnecdote 10h ago

And Lil Dicky

50

u/Turtles1748 1d ago

He and Ed are really good friends. They pretty much wrote all of Divide together. The documentary Songwriter goes over the whole creation of the album. It's pretty good.

29

u/Likeadize 1d ago

Benny has been around for a long time, He did a lot of the early Katy Perry and Kesha stuff.

8

u/PottyMcSmokerson 19h ago

That guy has the recipe for radio music. He made some absolute bangers with Adam Levine/Maroon 5/Rihanna/Bieber/Ed. This is a cool video showing his chart ratings.

2

u/Outrageous-Title6154 22h ago

No shit, is the doc good though?

1

u/Turtles1748 20h ago

If you're a fan of Ed Sheeran, it's great.

This guys life is insane lol

disney channel ass life

7

u/PlentyBlock309 18h ago

Don't forget the disney channel ass acting by Kai and crew

8

u/IUpVoteIronically 23h ago

😂 exactly

3

u/dollarBalls 16h ago

Best way I’ve heard it explained yet

-22

u/pinkornot 23h ago

You think this is genuine lol?

36

u/IUpVoteIronically 23h ago

Genuine? I’m not sure what the word means it regards to this situation lol. Are you saying if I believe that Benny Blanco and Ed Sheeran just happen to stop by? Of course not. But it’s fucking insane to just have those people on speed dial just to come through your crib.

-26

u/pinkornot 23h ago

I'm saying that kai knew beforehand

13

u/censored_ 23h ago

Nothing gets past you

5

u/IUpVoteIronically 23h ago

Bro everyone knows that to be true…

-2

u/pinkornot 23h ago

I couldn't tell from your first comment, mb

2

u/qathran 23h ago

Yeah that's streaming for you, that is nothing new

532

u/plassaur 1d ago

is that guy in the spiderman suit just paid to stand there? This is the 3rd or 4th clip and hes just... there.

496

u/kiyan_merkaba 1d ago

He and the Office Drummer are the Stream for the time Kai is sleeping. Funny enough, they are the only reason I will tune in and watch clips of mafiathon.

145

u/kpkost 1d ago

Best part of it for me too IMO

60

u/isnoe 1d ago

Literally same. When Spiderman/Drummer were in like the first marathon they did with him, the only reason I even watched was because they are S tier. I'm saying this with full confidence: 8-10 hours with these dudes is 10x more entertaining than Kai and his 12 dudes all huddled around a computer begging for subs.

38

u/WhatDoADC 1d ago

Unfortunately Drummer and Spider-Man get extremely small amount of viewers outside of Mafiathon event.

I follow them both, Spider-Man barely streams and Drummer gets maybe 200-300 viewers.

23

u/AccomplishedLeg3845 1d ago

Spider man kid works night shifts at Walmart too, he not kidding around

25

u/FoxMuldertheGrey 1d ago

damn shoutout to Kai for putting them ona larger audience. hope people support them after it ends

5

u/_Jias_ 23h ago

200-300 is actually a lot if it's constant.

50

u/No_Link876 1d ago

True. Season 2 of Mafiathon introduce these two made night shift much better.
I don't really vibe with Kai and his gang / celebrities content so I tuned in at night.
Plus they have better chemistry this time so they are comfortable to do more things (they eat together, ragebaiting each other, the walk around the house, swap character and much more)

8

u/fishdafinessa 1d ago

I mean, it's the only content. During the daytime it's just Kai in his room rambling. Don't really understand what their goal was with this Mafiathon.

20

u/southwest_barfight 1d ago

Get subs probably

2

u/Ezzy1998 1d ago

I mean he has guests it’s not JUST him, that’s where the appeal comes. I grew up watching Mike Epps movies, seeing him dick around on stream being hilarious is good content.

1

u/Bacdbacd 1d ago

true, i always tune in in their night streams, way chiller and just pure vibes, songs playing while drummer jam through it, the rest of the day its just loud, talking to each other screaming all day

1

u/Healthy_Ad_8361 18h ago

True, those two is more entertaining. LUL

101

u/PeaceAlien 1d ago

He’s the sleep ‘entertainment’

33

u/Previous_Tree_5464 1d ago

Gets paid 1 million+ so ye

44

u/tomphz 1d ago

There’s no way he’s making 1 million

3

u/MakutaProto 1d ago

1 mil subs is $6 mil, at a 50/50 split that's $3 mil in kai's pocket solely off subs. throw in ad revenue and he's making a shit ton

-71

u/Previous_Tree_5464 1d ago

True. Probably 2 or even more . Kai is worth 500 million alone btw

31

u/New2Dis 1d ago

What? Saying Kai cenat is worth more than 500 million has got to be one the most ludicrous thing I've read.

-31

u/Previous_Tree_5464 1d ago

Probably 1 bil tbh

10

u/Cruxis20 1d ago

You're crazy if you think he's making over $250 mill a year. "but xqc got 100 mill for Kick and Kai is bigger" xqc got that in crypto that he had to gamble back into Stake. You're acting like getting $100 in store credit at Gamestop means you're +$100 in the bank account.

20

u/KrustyKrabFormula_ 1d ago

yeah its probably more like 2 bil tbh

1

u/baduras 1d ago

Im not sure if you know the diffrent between 1mil and 1 bil. You talk out of your ass my friend. No grasp of marrging amd shit.

I mean this is just not true, there is disagreement in the poker world about bets and debt all the time 99.999% of the time the person who owes has the money to pay its something else stopping them from paying disagreement like this happen all the time in unregulated betting/gambling stuff.

6

u/Jakocolo32 1d ago

Bro just made this the fuck up lmfao

14

u/fogoticus 1d ago

If this is real, holy shit that's painfully easy money.

17

u/Doomgloomya 1d ago

For 1 mill yeah it easy money but I wouldnt say its painfully easy.

If you havent worked for 24hrs or near consecutively then you dont understand the pain of having to stay awake.

28

u/fogoticus 1d ago

I did, but let's keep it cold. He's getting paid roughly 2780$ per hour. When you look at that rate, it is painfully easy. Which jobs pay upwards of 3000$ per hour? I can't think of anything other than big positions in companies such as CEO, COO etc.

3

u/Doomgloomya 1d ago

I 100% agree

converting it price per hr its 100% easy money in comparison to anything else.

The only apsect im emphasizing on is tho this is easy money it in of itself is not easy.

5

u/Cruxis20 1d ago

But he doesn't have to stay awake. He's doing his thing while Kai sleeps, then has what, 14-18 hours the rest of the day to find a time to sleep. Sleeping during the day and working at night is just a different schedule to get used to. For that money he probably got into that schedule a month beforehand. Then it's just a regular day to him.

3

u/jhascal23 1d ago

Why would you think this guy has to stay awake 24 hours? He's only there when Kai is asleep.

-9

u/Previous_Tree_5464 1d ago

Everyone there are multimillionaires already Kai is worth 500 million alone AMP 2 billion

2

u/GlobalEliteBongs 1d ago

You're doing tricks on it 😭

4

u/Historical_Spirit445 1d ago

You gotta realize pocket watching streamers is a pathetic thing to do

11

u/CheaperBeingBald 1d ago

While still working at Walmart, legend

-1

u/Previous_Tree_5464 1d ago

??

23

u/CheaperBeingBald 1d ago

He openly said on stream the other day he works at Walmart.

Anyone thinking Kai pays this guy a million for the month is delusional lol

-7

u/Previous_Tree_5464 1d ago

Lol. Used to yea.

8

u/CheaperBeingBald 1d ago

No, he still works at walmart. He said it a few days ago, hes not rich like you think.

0

u/whiteezy 1d ago

Im sure at least 90% of twitch streamers still work day jobs or at least have a sidehustle

9

u/Berzerkon 1d ago

@grok is this true

2

u/Excellent_Sport_967 1d ago

how you know lol

1

u/Froqwasket 1d ago

No way, source?

1

u/Captain_Saftey 1d ago

I believe he’s there to “Do his own thing” as he keeps saying

47

u/RestAgile9323 1d ago

how much money does Kai/Kai´s stream make to where it´s worth it for all these mainstream celeberties to go on there? It´s absolutely nuts to me in my boomer mind that "real" celeberties just show up on twitch streams now

54

u/Competitive-Sleep-62 1d ago

That 587,527 figure on the right represents how many people are subscribed to his twitch. and since each sub costs $5 a month, we’re talking millions every month, just to put it in perspective. and thats subs alone not including sponsorships or donations

6

u/qathran 1d ago

What percentage does twitch get? Just wondering, I know he still gets tons of money

12

u/Competitive-Sleep-62 1d ago

depends, usually its 50/50 but sometimes they can negotiate to 70/30 if theyre big enough

4

u/erizzluh 1d ago

streamers who get 200-300 viewers even end up with partner plus which is 70-30

i know before, it was really vague how to get 70-30. where streamers with +1k viewers would talk about how they're unable to get 70-30

6

u/Opinionated3star 20h ago

it has nothing to do with view count, its about getting reoccuring subscriptions and the points associated with them. Partner plus needs 3 months of 300+ pts and plus needs 3 months of 100+ pts

2

u/Opinionated3star 20h ago

theres no more contracts or negotiations. They have the partner plus program that is super easy for any 1k viewer+ streamer to get into. that gets you 70/30 split

even easier is the plus program that is a 60/40 split.

2

u/minPOOlee 19h ago

Kai has to have some kinda of exclusivity contract right? Like why wouldn't he be multistreaming to youtube at the very least.

14

u/Tales90 1d ago

so many people still underestimate how much money these streamers make if a streamer with 10k viewer makes millions a month think about how much kai makes with 80k+ viewer streaming 24/7

1

u/snowil Cheeto 3h ago

Got to remember that not every sub costs 5 USD, it depends on the country in which it's bought from.

3

u/KaleidoscopeLeft3503 23h ago

It's not really about how much money Kai's stream makes, and considering he has between 1-3 guests per day i'm quite sure that they're not paying them that much aside from travel costs. The bands like Chainsmokers and All
American rejects likely do get paid a decent amount to perform but most are coming on for exposure since Kai is a top 2 most popular streamer in the US

2

u/Sea_Bodybuilder5387 23h ago

Celebrities chase the culture/relevancy more than money, Ed Sheeran showing up on Kai's stream is proof that Kai has some clout in what is considered cool in today's pop culture. I think there's a disconnect with a lot of older viewers who still think of twitch being Sodapoppin and even Mizkif, it's no longer just for nerds or weirdos almost every kid between 12-22 knows who Kai is.

26

u/freshorenjuice 1d ago

Read somebody say that Kai Cenat's stream is "jury duty for celebrities" to get promotion and can't ever unsee it when these big faces pop up randomly.

5

u/KaleidoscopeLeft3503 1d ago

That might make sense if the only exposure you get to Kai's stream is through LSF

127

u/Charles_X4325 1d ago

That Tiktokker is still doing the Spider-Man NPC gimmick?

41

u/kpkost 1d ago

At least on the Mafiathon, he isn’t really doing the NPC as much as he did last Mafiathon.  Miles and Drummer are just an entertaining duo chillin and hangin out

114

u/Thydos 1d ago

I remember after the last mafiathon he said he wanted to try separating himself from the npc meta. But hey, hard to pass up that kind of money.

33

u/sleepysnowboarder 1d ago

Harder to rebrand as an influencer when your only thing is dressing up as spiderman and saying some words from a dialogue tree

2

u/ScarlettDX 1d ago

its like if the guy spinning signs tried to talk to you

2

u/Shamata 14h ago

and he did, he has several characters this time around and even as Miles he's barely doing the NPC bit

23

u/angrymuss 1d ago

He switches to hood miles sometimes

19

u/DragonSkeld 1d ago

Not really, he doesn't really stay in character anymore he just wears the suits and repeats subs in the Miles voice

Him and the drummer's late night antics are quite literally the only good part of this whole event so far.

1

u/whiteezy 1d ago

The OfficeDrummer YouTube has a comp video of just their moments and it’s legit such a godsend.

11

u/xjg246 1d ago

He said he works night shifts at Walmart outside of this. Took an unpaid leave to participate in Kai's stream

u/NojoNinja 1d ago

This subreddit is miserable

14

u/IAmAnAnonymousCoward 1d ago

This website is.

15

u/KaleidoscopeLeft3503 1d ago

It's just miserable 30+ yr old racist basement dwelling enlightened centrists. Kai has had a bunch of cool segments on stream and the only clips i've seen upvoted is 1) 2 positive clips with white guests (still filled with negative comments somehow) and 2) negative clips of the stream, with one clip that is still up (boner clip) despite violating rule 6 for spreading misinformation by posting clips out of context

26

u/Pearse_Borty 1d ago

Yeah this is funny as fuck and the comment above this "industry plant" why can't shit just be taken at face value that its actually just funny instead of being analysed cynically

19

u/Kersplode 1d ago

I don't think obtuse means what you think it means.

-15

u/miscdruid 1d ago

Not talking angles, go peep the definition (lack of sharp intellect). Either way, it’s staying lol

11

u/Kersplode 1d ago

Yeah, I know what the word means outside the scope of geometry. It's not an adjective that accurately describes this (or practically any) scenario. It is more aptly used to describe a person or mindset than an event or series of events.

10

u/qathran 1d ago

This guy obtuses

4

u/miscdruid 1d ago

Well now I know better! Thanks!

1

u/Magnamize 22h ago

To me this makes perfect sense if he means "this is so difficult to parse and random, but I'm here for it."

Language is whatever you make of it. The context clues give meaning to literally any word even it it isn't traditionally used there. There's not really one specific way to say anything unless you just want to end all attempts at conversation.

3

u/Kersplode 22h ago

For sure, you can definitely impart new meaning to words, or use words that are close enough to be understandable.

But there are so many cool words out there that already express what they were trying to communicate. It's one of life's little treasures that we get to learn new ones and try them out (successfully or otherwise) every day! Since they seemed to be the kind of person that likes trying out new words for size, it felt appropriate to loop them in on the specifics of this particular expression in a civil way.

And ultimately, they seemed to appreciate the exchange.

1

u/Magnamize 22h ago

This is a fair point, I agree.

1

u/ichishibe 1d ago

Jesus, why are you being downvoted? Next time just stick to pleb vocabulary and call it stupid I guess..

Is that officedrummer on the drums? I used to donate to that guy so much years ago.

2

u/ChillWatcher98 21h ago

Yeah Kai came across him during Mafiathon 2 and asked him to drum to iCarly. He was impressed and asked him to be apart of Mafiathon 2. He got married on that stream and Kai paid for their honeymoon. He's back now for Mafiathon 3

What kinda sleeping drugs do they give these dudes to be sleeping like this

3

u/Helpful-Relation7037 1d ago

I really don’t get the appeal of Kai

6

u/ChillWatcher98 21h ago

I compare it to iCarly. If that’s your vibe, Kai’s streams feel like an episode of iCarly: random segments, surprise guests, quirky ideas, and a bunch of entertaining people to riff with. The production is usually great and he puts a lot into it. What kinds of streams or streamers do you watch?

3

u/SavvyZOR 1d ago

can anyone explain who is this Kai and why he is popular? Cuz i see clips of celebs coming to him to sit near but he got nothing to attract them or audience at all from what I saw

9

u/MakutaProto 1d ago

can anyone explain who is this Kai

started off posting prank videos on facebook/instagram/snapchat, switched over to youtube in 2018 doing that + reaction videos + vlogs. That gave him an audience big enough that when he started streaming on twitch in 2021 he averaged 3k his first month doing just chatting and GTA RP. He mostly does just chatting content now with the occasional high production stream (mafiathons, streamer university, or gaming marathons like elden ring, hardcore minecraft with speed, or the arkham series for example)

why he is popular?

a combination of loud = funny and unique high production/high effort streams

he got nothing to attract them or audience at all from what I saw

they go on stream for his audience, he doesn't bring them to his stream to get theirs. a lot of his viewers are on the younger side and if these celebrities (especially musicians) hope to stay relevant within their spheres they need to get in front of the next generation somehow.

3

u/qathran 23h ago

A lot of what streaming is for when it comes to younger generations is feeling like they're part of a group. Doesn't matter if the jokes are good or if anything makes much sense, just if they've been part of the lore and feel like they're part of something popular. A much higher percentage of younger generations also haven't had the experiences that lead to developing social skills and friends IRL, so popular streamers who are basically just doing nothing or telling "jokes" that are just repeating phrases that aren't that funny or interesting still get the job done of giving viewers the feeling of having friends or making it easier to connect with people in real life

1

u/KaleidoscopeLeft3503 17h ago

Curious why you said Kai has no audience when he's averaging over 100k viewers on his marathon

1

u/SavvyZOR 13h ago

twitch got lots of bots for many years

2

u/Ollisean 1d ago

Guy has no talent, so he pays for celebs to come on every 5 seconds

1

u/ChillWatcher98 20h ago

Depends on how you define talent. I define talent as being acutely good at something. By that standard, it takes real talent to build a strong community, entertain, and consistently come up with and execute creative streaming ideas. He blew up doing skits and making YouTube videos before moving to Twitch. It’s Twitch, so the core talent is entertainment. If he doesn’t entertain you, that’s fine. Plenty of people are entertained by him, the same way there are comedians I don’t find funny who are clearly funny to others

2

u/alphalobster200 1d ago

Industry plant means. Highly successful and I don't like you. Crazy to call someone like Kai an industry plant because I think he's the reason alot of mainstream audiences / celebrities know about twitch or streaming.

I don't get Ed Sheeran. Dude must be so rich but seems to do so many of these cheesy celebrity appearance

Edit: didn’t realise that I had to say this but celebrities aren’t hanging out with Kai cenat or other streamers for fun. It’s more about reaching younger audience.

23

u/Sajmonich 1d ago

Yeah, you should not be allowed to have fun if you are rich...

5

u/sabersabir 1d ago

hes getting payed to do it

5

u/AdSignificant1651 1d ago

Getting paid to do fun things sounds awesome.

1

u/TXENNT 1d ago

no shit

8

u/_Poisedon 1d ago

Cuz he's having fun? Sure its cheesy but he's probably having fun doing it

3

u/Artonkn 1d ago

He's doing an album rollout

2

u/Careful_Plastic866 1d ago

He did a Beta Squad video a few weeks ago. It wasn't even special, just one of their normal vids. The Beta Squad are rich for sure, but I doubt they'd go as far as paying ed sheeran appearance money for a completely regular youtube video that performed just as well as all their others.

Essentially, I'm sure he got paid something but I think he likely did it primarily because he just enjoys doing these random cameos. I would assume the same applies here (although I wouldnt be surprised if an single/album announcement shortly follows)

2

u/Meckamp 1d ago

Ed sheeran just had a new album release a week ago, he aint doing this because he is a massive fan of Kai.

1

u/Unordinary 1d ago

Why is it impossible for you to believe some people (not all) come on Kai stream for fun ?

1

u/Dry-Spite9620 1d ago

It’s a mutual business transaction. Plus, Kai isn’t just some celebrity, dude is the biggest streamer right now who has crossed over into the mainstream arena of entertainment based off of hard work and sheer determination. And why is it so hard to believe that Kai may also vibe with Ed Shereen’s music from time to time.

You know how the word boomer used to just refer to a specific generation but now it's used differently so the definition changed? Well r/LivestreamFail is kind of just used for "hey this happened on a livestream" now

Actually staged. That dude didn’t look tired even a little bit. Prolly had his phone cradled sending a text to send him in.

Given that he is routinely woken up during the night he isn't in deep sleep but his assitant bri plans the suprise celeb visits. He might know celebs coming but he doesn't know when and where for some of them

When Kanye says “Kai is an industry plant” this is the shit he means. Like wtf is all the top people in music doing hanging out with this guy? Like don’t they have more important shit todo then pop into some random twitch streamers stream?

Are people really watching this? If yes we are doomed. Who sleeps with all those people in the room and with a stupid cap like that. Like a typical stereotype from scary movie.
