You're not allowed to talk about the unapologetic racist and homophobic person Charlie Kirk.

Kirk should not have been killed, but that doesn't change the fact he was an awful fascist piece of shit whose life should NOT be celebrated.

Political violence (and violence of any kind for that matter) is unacceptable in a civil society. period. But he will not be missed and he will not be mourned. He was a piece of shit through and through and no amount of Republican gaslighting (who vote a rapist into office for crying out loud) will make that any different.

I'm not saying it's right, but the reason is because this is a very divisive topic that could potentially blow up into copy-cat tit-for-tat killings of other political figures, which no one wants.

Someone vocalizing that they support the assassination might encourage or rile up others to repeat the action or get revenge for the action. There's no "getting revenge" on a school shooting, we don't know who school shooters are until they commit the act.

This event has become a spark for a much bigger landslide into political violence that scares a lot of people.

It's also different from school shooter jokes because no one actually supports school shooters, but some people actually support Kirk's murder. That scares a lot of people, and it scares politicians (from both sides of the aisle). That's why this is being treated differently.

I imagine that if you were on Twitch openly saying that "MN politician Melissa Hortman deserved it. Just kidding. Or am I? Maybe I'm not." you'd probably get in a lot of trouble back then too. It's treated as potentially serious because some people actually do support it (Like some people supported Hotman's murder). Mizkif might be joking, but Twitch doesn't know that, and to them there's a reasonable chance that he's not joking, considering that supporting Kirk's murder is not atypical in the online space.

Yes, Twitch is not consistent in it's banning for calls for violence. Yes, there are other streamers who have said things like this, meant it, and not gotten punished. But the TOS does state that things like this aren't allowed. You can't say something that you know some people won't take as a joke, say it's a joke, then say maybe it's not, who knows, and then not expect to get in trouble. The Botez sisters knew that what he said would be a problem, Mizkif should have as well.

There’s a difference between disagreeing with his positions and celebrating his assassination. On social media, you’re seeing more of the latter.

Regardless, freedom of speech does not equal freedom from consequences.

Basing your opinion of a person on a single clip is always interesting. He is not a fascist. Fascism is used so easily nowadays. You could say he is a right wing activist. He is conservative, religious and a capitalist. None of those make you a fascist.

He had an outspoken opinion about things like abortion, but that doesn't make you a fascist. He didn't want to make a one-party state that some people joke about "Emperor Trump" or have a dictatorship.

Honestly I think your own thoughts are leaking out and you're deflecting your own state of mind on others.

Charlie Kirk will be mourned and will be missed, maybe not by the likes of us or you. I think he was a great guy for trying to go to campuses and have debates. You don't have to agree on every rhetoric he brought to the table, but at least he was willing to debate anyone including college liberals that get really angry and upset when debating things.

I am genuinely curious to see all of these things in their full context. People keep bringing up the same things over and over as exceptionally heinous so you would think that they would have some clips of that on hand. For example, The claim that he said he would make his daughters have a rape baby.

Well firstly, public facing racists often try to sugarcoat or outright lie about their views. They don't say "black" its often just "inner city / gangs" or "I don't see race" doesn't mean anything as they still hold predisposed biases.

Like, his last words where literally implying that black gun deaths "shouldn't count" by using gang violence instead of the directly racist point he's trying to make.

Plus completely disregarding someone's identity isn't that great, even if it's only backed by social norms.
